Not sure if you had to pay extra for the hole, I reckon I would have cost me over 300 squids. But I guess you could pay about 200.

The reason for mentioning the hole was because I was looking for some tube 63.5 OD x 45mm bore, and was quoted £75 per metre. Solid bright was £40 per metre... so it seems holes in metal are Very expensive.

At Metals 4U a metre of 2" x 1 " bore PB1 bronze tube is £253 so using that as a guide I reckon that bit would be say 210 quid.

"Ouch" - is his remark indicating that the purchase price hurt. I gather from the remarks about the OP from people who seem to know him is that he is possibly a bit of a cheapskate (a bit like me!). Which leads me to ask myself what would make me go "ouch" faced with a similar purchase. I would say somewhere between £12-£17.

I paid £227 for 36" of 2 1/4" X 1 1/4" PB1 in June 2014 so should be between £225/250,
Scrap price for bronze/ copper has dropped over the last twelve months so the price for new shouldn't have increased much
