Well assuming you have all been good boys (and girls) throughout the year what did you wake up to find Santa had left for you?

Can we keep it to engineering, model and boys toys as I would rather not know what hankies and socks you all got.

To start the ball rolling I got Cherry's Engines, this selection of bits from ARC and a Hubsan Q4 Nano Quod

A load of HSS milling cutters, and a two channel DRO with two DRO bars for the mill X & Y axis, the latter from ARC.

I wouldn't have called Mr Stevenson's pressies "usual crap", but then I'm nothing but a poor pensioner!

Incredibly bright Cree t6 torch, zoomable 2200lumens. Going to be of use wood turning and peering into things! Also dog walking and SWMBO has announced she would like one , as have both sons, having played with it!

Also 7mm brake allen key, I didn't believe it but in my "modest" ( _ SWMBO views it differently sad) collection of allen keys I had no 7mm one! Why Volvo chose 7mm ????

R C helicopter for son may prove interesting I think!

Merry Christmas one and all!

Following long established tradition; my 'Christmas present' [the ML7-R] was wangled early. ... But this morning I did receive a beautifully gift-wrapped vintage BRADES Mortar Pick.

Comparison with the modern equivalent just goes to prove the old adage; "they don't make 'em like that any more".

Sounds as if many of the City Link drivers owned their own vans. Now they are stuck with green and yellow colour schemes and will need to make them white again - and get a job. Good timing. What a nice Xmas present.

Two pairs of Homer Simpson socks

Main 'toy' was a 70mm Bresser telescope on an EQ mount which with the addition of a decent eyepiece camera will keep me happy until I can get a reflector.

Thinking of adding steppers to both axes (wormwheels already there, probably 144:1)

Plus I can now use the chuck I bought at MEX with Dad's funding to put dovetails in the QCTP holder (for the Wimberly) sitting in the milling vice!.
