ive always fancied one of the tangential so how much for bottom 4 tools please?

I have a length of string through my eye nut tied to the column fit just such a reason. One 20 minute searching session to retrieve it was enough for me

I’ve not had any issues with Record stuff but that doesn’t look good. I would return and ask for a replacement as the finish doesn’t look good at all.

OK after a while using it you might want to touch it up with a diamond file but those edges should be better , in my view.

I ordered some milling tips from ebay having measured up the chipped ones I had ( lost the original spec) and consulted various references as to the codes.

I ordered from YES.tools , otherwise known as Anchor tools of Sheffield. I have dealt with them in person many times but didn’t know Yes.tools was their online ebay trading name.

I measured those sent and they didn’t match my tip measurements or fit properly , so I queried it and , with apologies they sent replacements in case they had got it wrong . These were again not as per my needs. I then contacted them and returned the all the tips and a sample for them to see. They found a match and I then ordered a complete box to make sure I don’t run out again. Delivered 48 hours later !!

Throught this they were really helpful, despite the current situation and all the hassle dealing remotely with me. I will thank them in person once this is all over but just thought I should make people aware of the lengths some supliers will go to to assist , even at this difficult time. So Chris and team, well done !🙇‍♂️

Just like to say thanks for the prompt order delivery well packaged as always.

I would also like to take the time to say thank you publically to ALL the suppliers and others out there working to help others . Lockdown has created many difficulties for a lot of people and I really appreciate the way some have gone above and beyond to help others.

A plea to one and all , if you haven’t seen someone for a while, drop them an email or give them a call. It can make a hell of a difference to know others care

I work in healthcare and we see a lot of lonely people , following the advice and being careful which is great BUT a call from a distant friend / relative. can make all the difference. Think about it when was the last time you spoke to ....XX... . Maybe they’re as embarrassed about it as you are so make contact.

Sadly I don’t think this is going away anytime soon so we all need to remember , and show we care. Waiting for a funeral does no one any good !

Plea over but a final shot - let’s keep the forum cheerful and all be friends. You might disagree with someone but now more than ever RESPECT their views?

An inspiration to many, me included. Had the pleasure of chatting to him and learning whilst at Doncaster.

Didn’t realise it had been 3 years now but his words and many favours to others live on which is, I think, how he’d like to be remembered.

If you ask nicely the bottles containing hair colouring with nozzles make excellent dispensing bottles for oil, water , coolant etc Smell at bit odd at first but after a couple of rinses...

I ordered some wood turning bits from Germany Five months ago and they came with free Haribo in with them, Nice people to deal with as well. Their english beat my school day german hands down but I tried !

Just reordered some stuff from them today as want it before this EU fiasco plays out.

Working for a large chemist chain it always amused me that to fit a plug we had to be “certified” , I never was but it was always an amusing question to ask at a managers meeting if bored.

I can recall serveral colleagues who could have been “”certified “but not for that reason !

I always check the plug fuse rating anyway. Can I just say many thanks to Nick as I never knew that was the identification on the plug, live and learn.

Can I just say a very big thank you for the speed of delivery and help on the phone ordering my brazing hearth. I have plenty of rods etc from your good selves , last Doncaster show but having bodged about needed a hearth.

I think it’s a log grabber. As you grasp the handle and twist the two jaws are pivoted about the central screw or bolt thus levering them into the bark allowing you to drag the log.

so if the roll sits in a vertical holder attached to the floor , should it be unrolled to the right or left of the dispenser?

Towards or away from the pot as it where?

the photos Phil posted are better than the diagrams in the manual which just shows piling pints etc and general arrangement.

I remember Phils dad very fondly for his useful guidance and advice to me before I bought my Alexander.

I too have such a machine but have never taken it to bits to the level you seem to be going. I do have the manual which has several exploded parts views if that would be helpful?

drop mark baker at GMC publications a line as they had a series showing how to adapt a rotary table, chuck and compound table to fit on a wood working lathe and convert it into a basic ornamental turning set up. I have the articles some where as I bought the equipment. last year to do just that but then events so far have prevented me achieving it

I have the micromesh system and use it but for making a few knobs it seemed a bit OTT so hence the advice given. It shou”d have said STEARATE lubricated paper, fingers faster than brain as usual !

Circlip, I have no ever heard of sovent vapour polishing, please elaborate on that one !
