Hi Peter

That is why I asked what people can see.

As a moderator, I have a perpetual subscription so can't tell what is going on.

David

I post here as I guess you are reading this thread.

Why is there an ad in the box above the thread title from various attractive chinese girls wanting to chat with us? Is this a new service offered by My Hobby Store? Will they be able to offer gems of advice on matters engineering - or is it yet another attack from the dreaded spammers? I have not sought to take up their offer of chat for fear of what I might find. Any comments?

Regards

Norman

Hi Norman

I can't see what you see.

There are ways of putting adverts onto anyone's website without permission.

Can you do a screen shot of the offending article?

Get the advert on screen and press the printscreen button.

Save the result to a paint package.

Just click paste as new image.

Then email it to me.

regards David

I see 4 options, all have the same expiry date alonside, only the MEW box has a subscriber number (which is correct as I only subscribe to MEW) and I guess the expiry date is the date of my next Annual Direct Debit, which will be renewed automatically I believe.

Dear David,

I dread receiving renewal notices for ME and MEW each year because of the frustration of trying to renew on-line. This year is no different. If I go through the paper mag renewal squence I get to the 'Change Details' deadend. Seeing you advised others who ended here because their site-provided code had expired, I logged out and logged back in to get a current code, but ended up at the 'Change Details' deadend, as before.

So I decided to go to a digital subscription (despite the overlap) only to find that the page will not accept an Australian zip/postal code, so I am dumped again.

As for my expiry date on my paper subs -- I have never seen one.

Guess I will have to resort to email or telephone, as before.

Hi Paul

I have had the website changed to allow Australian Model Engineer subscription orders. It was literally a 'ticking the box' job. Australia is rest of world zone 2 and they only ticked the box for rest of world zone 1.

Model Engineers' Workshop seemed fine.

Hi Mike

You must be our oldest reader.

Can you access the subscription if you are a subscriber?

regards David

Hi David, Yes I can access everything as I am a subscriber to both magazines so I assume my entry to all parts comes from either subscription. It is not a problem for me at the moment problems will probably arise when my actual renewal dates come round, maybe all will be sorted by then.

Best Regards

Mike

Many thanks David for your forebearance in replying to my post of 26 June re subscription problems. And thanks to others who also posted.

All turned out well when I tried again with a clear mind ... would have written earlier but have been away from email since then.
