I am a complete beginner at this lathe/mill malarky, but want to learn to do 'stuff'. I have done lots of DIY over the years, and build and fly R/C model aircraft and helicopters and also fly a two seat light aircraft (G-EWBC) that I built myself - so I have reasonable mechanical, electrical and computer skills. I got my pension in February 2011 and have just had a new workshop built in my garden. I have always been facinated by lathes and machining and so am going to get to grips with it. Currently making tools and bits to get to grips with basic skills.

Lathe is a Wabeco D6000E with a Newall 2 axis DRO.

Mill 1 is Sieg KX3. Now installed and PC set-up and configured and I thing now callibrated. The work-flow from CAD drawing to CAM to G-Code to positioning work and cutter on mill to cut in the right place is the current challenge.

Mill 2 is a Sieg Super X3, delivered with the Arc Euro Preparation and ready to go.
