All I can say is "Clumsy B*astard" for picking up the infection.....
That was his response to one of my first posts on here. Huge respect for a man with a huge wealth of practical experience and knowledge combined with a classic British sense of humour.

You can fight it, get well soon

Stuart

Hi,

I last saw John a few months back when I was visiting relatives close to where he lives. I purchased a book from him and we had a nice conversation and a chuckle. He had lost a lot of weight but he was very positive. When I saw Ketan's post I feared the worst. Best Wishes John and family.

I first came across John many years ago before this forum started when I made a QCTP to his design. Since then he has always been very helpful, especially with Mach3.

Get well soon John. Your posts are missed.

I found out about John's illness some months back from a fellow member on here.....I was totally shocked by the revelation!

I've always found John to be very helpful and generous too, not only in his knowledge and expertise but in going out of his way to resolve problems I've had with machinery.

I can only add to that that has already been said, wishing you a speedy recovery and hoping to hear your wit and wisdom again soon.

Best wishes, John.

Bloody hell, that's typical, I find someone who speaks as blunt as me, but unlike me he's very knowledgable and helpful, he put's up with my stupid questions and even has the patience to help me out and now he's a bit dicky.

Get a grip John, I've got a lot more stupid questions lined up,

Best wishes, Ian

JS, down here we would call him one of the good ba****ds, learned a lot from him, always like to see what he's up to next, looking and hoping for a next.

I've known John ever since the only tech contact method was 'Newsgroups' - so a pretty long time !

He has always been helpful generous and informative - a true friend albeit only usually electronically connected. (Although he's been here to the farm a few times)

So John I'm sure that you know this already but my thoughts are definitely with you at this difficult time and I look forward to the time when having come through it, you can once more call me a Clumsy Bastard

Normally I enjoy reading posts with my breakfast coffee but not today. Goodness knows how John's family and friends are coping, the worry must be awful.

I rate John's posts highly. Helpful grounded professional advice. Sometimes blunt and occasionally tactless, there's no doubt that he's the genuine article. Get well soon.

I'm just one of the - probably many - who don't have much to contribute to this forum, but much to gain from the likes of John. I've always looked forward to his posts. We need more real, practical engineers like him.

I'm afraid I can't claim originality for this, but remember that a bodge is a 'Bit Of Damn Good Engineering'.

Get well soon - your country needs you!

Bill.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, from here. An honest poster with heaps of expetience and a wealth of knowledge. Heres hoping he makes a return to full health and gets back on the forum - his posts are both direct and helpful to other readers. tNot only on this forum, but others, too, where his postings are acknowledged as second to none.

John

Give this problem the same attitude that you have always used. We look forward to your pertinent comments on here once more.

But never mind us, just do it for Debs.

Very, very best wishes

Mike

The Yorkshire border guards had a hard time trying to keep you out but you're making it too easy for them now. Spose this is a ploy to give them a false sense of security. Just think of the depreciation on the Donald, that should give you an incentive to end the ligabed.

Best regards Ian.

Met John many years ago, one of the best who spoke his mind. Suits me.

John, remember there is a whole army of us standing here to wish you well. Battle on!

Please add my name to those grateful recipients of John's expertise, and his willingness to pass it on.

Get well soon.
