This looks like a bit of fun to have with a stationary engine, seems ideal for anyone with steampunk interests as well.

I has one rather painful issue, boiling water splashing over your lower parts as you go along.

I like the primitive 'deadman', where if you take your foot off the pedal, the belt slips.

What a lovely machine, loads of low down torque, plenty of "flywheel effect" and dead economical! A bit like my pal's BSA M21 I suppose?

Undoubtably plenty of bottom end torque, but ultimately limited by its 1 1/2 HP rating. I expect they could fit a lid to the cooling hopper if they really needed to avoid sloshing hot water around. Nevertheless, an interesting use of an old stationary engine in a ‘moving’ appication.

What a brilliant idea, glad to see some people with a sense of adventure. It has given me some thought as to what to do once I've rebuilt my Lister. Better start growing a beard and collecting old tat to become a steampunk (Oh hang on! I've been doing that for years, the collecting bit not the steampunk bit cheeky.

There is a 10 1/4" rail car with a Lister D engine that has been seen at Alexandra Palace.

Here is another Bike https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMkNNwfa0O0

What a bit of light hearted FUN. We had a home built go-cart with a Lister in it after we totaled the original BSA bantam engine..... embarrassed

You're not actually supposed to quite boil knackwurst. And the man didn't appear to have any sauerkraut to go with it.

Shocking.

As the weather in Norway can be a bit chilly and I have noticed that riding in cold weather can cause shrinkage then a bit of warm water could be welcome. Water heated handlebars could be a useful mod for winter riding.smiley

There was an old guy in our village back in the 60's who had ridden Scott Squirrels back in the 20's/30's. He had extensively modified his, one of the mods being water heated handlebars. He also claimed to have done 2 wheel drive on a solo and 2 wheel drive on a combination (easy by comparison) but I never saw any evidence. Probably helped that he had a business making oddball machinery for the textile industry, so plenty of machine tools. It's houses now.

Great, I wonder if it has a footbrake on the right?

Sometime I think that in every model engineer there's a secret steampunk trying to escape...

If I ever finish my steam engine, I thought I might try and attach it to a go-kart.

First, the engine, then the boiler, then we'll see.

Not this year....
