I am not hard to please,as long as I get what I want,I,m happy.

If I get it for nothing, all the better.!

Again, sounds like most of us !!.

They approached us about basing an episode on this forum, but I said the members would kick up a fuss...

Being a fully paid up member of said group I can relate to some of the problems however, we must remember this is an 'entertainment' show and I certainly don't believe all I see in any of them, they are never truly candid. I discovered recently that the show 'A New Place in the Sun' suffers from extremely bad editing and untruths. I know one of the areas extremely well and there was some very creative editing and narrative! Still watch though, just take it all with a pinch of salt!

Sadly, we are classed as Grumps by the youfs cos they haven't the ****s to complain about even small injustices. Lets face it, it's OUR generation that's caused the present deadlock.

Regards Ian.

Disagree Ian, MY generation, ie the old & wrinklies, would have had it sorted by now. It's the generation between my generation and the youfs that are messing things up.

Cheers,

Peter G. Shaw.

Since when has there ever been a generation that hasn't mucked at least something up?

There was a conversation rather like this recently, in my caving club. After we'd put caving's internal "politics" to right, someone pointed out we'd had a good old grumble, then wondered,

"What's the collective noun for === === Club members?"

The reply recalled a few times since, was, "A Grump of [===]!"

Naturally, Club name deleted to protect the innocent.

Right, so what's the equivalent here?

You've set me up...
A murmuration of complainants

A murder of groans

A gaggle of grumblers

A batch of bodgers

A vineyard of whiners

Well, I've just watched episode 2, and I think a lot of good sense was said, eg, who is interested in that you've just changed your sheets? Or all the other minutae of your humdrum life. Or selfies? To whom are they going to be of interest? Fighting the car park machine - been there and done that, although I did succeed. Those rings, and I suppose anything else like that - a total waste of time. Well, not actually, as they may speed up transactions, but how do you keep a track of what you've spent? Remember, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves. Robots? Daughter has an early iRobot and for some reason it failed to charge the lithium battery so she bought an expensive replacement battery. All the old one needed was a bit of a charge just to get the volts up, and then it was ok.

So yes, I've a lot of sympathy with (and agreement with) the views expressed in the program.

Mind you, as a confirmed camper & caravanner for over 60 years, next week's program should be quite funny.

Yours grumpily,

Peter G. Shaw

Peter and Tony, the word Irony doesn't always apply to a high Ferric content material.

I was surrounded by carp fishermen at work, luckily they had other interests as well. A friend used to joke about going to the deaf centre to talk about motorbikes, much of my youth was spent in the never ending debate of Brit vs Jap bikes, it was a lot of fun but I think the Japanese won the argument in the end with some brilliant bikes, took them a few years to finally master handling but they did.

Welcome to the club Stewart; I don't think you need to wait until you retire; as a fully fledged member, & an ex NVQ level 3 mech eng. assessor /verifier I think you have already reached the standards required, maybe a couple of tweaks here & there, demonstrate repeatability & consistency a couple more times & I'll sign you off... devil face 20

I was awarded a masters degree 48 years ago for research in artificial intelligence. Should never have started it - I hate things like Google Home and Alexa!
