Here is my wife's first attempt at scratch building a chair for her 1/12 scale Georgian dolls house.

Very cool, I think it would be rather churlish to suggest it was anything but engineering of sorts to be honest, deserving of respect!

Why's she sticking to 1:12 & not trying 1:1 with that quality of work?

Regards,

Richard.

It will not fit in the doll's house at 1:1 Richard.

Do I sense any competition in the Cox house hold? Excellent work.

"Why's she sticking to 1:12 & not trying 1:1 with that quality of work?'

Because all she had was a craft knife and fret saw.

It would take ages to whittle a full size chair. wink 2

Fine piece of work ,and the chair is one of the best engineered items built in there trillions over the millenia withstanding incredible forces for years and many for hundreds of years.

Hi, well I have seen Dolls House's at Model Engineering Exhibitions in the past, so why can't it be classed as Engineering. Yes very good and nicely done.

Regards Nick.

Well done to Mrs Cox. You'll have to make some 1/12 scale woodworking tools for her!

I do a bit of woodwork myself , but nothing anyway near that standard.

It is a fine piece of work, a credit to you, and every bit as good an example of engineering as I have seen.

So what if it,s made in wood ?, were not many of the machines made from wood ?

Beautiful piece of work, I admire you.
