In Morrisons car park today. My pic does not do justice to this silver dream machine. Rik I thought all old mods had seen the error of their ways. Turn on all those lights and the engine stops, not that you'd notice as they only developed about a mouse power anyway. |

![]() 2156 forum posts | Grrrr. they sound like hairdryers. As an ageing Rocker I still hate the things ! Really what I could never understand was the whole mirrors and lamps thing, as Neil says most of the guys riding them in "Period Dress" are old enough to know better. But the world is a big place and room for all. |

157 forum posts | Please sir, I once had a ringside (pillion) seat view of a traffic light grand prix on the North Circular between a Vespa GS 150 & a Vincent Rapide, by my reckoning the big Vin was already doing 10mph more than the scooters top speed before it changed into second gear, I never did figure out how they became 'cool', we rounded out the afternoon by going to drool over George Browns 'Nero' on display in the window of his shop in Stevenage. Happy days. |

Ahhh yes! but is it the 125 / 150 / or the 'special' ? I reckon it's an SX 150 or 200 as it has the extra shock absorber on the front suspension, even though the screen appaears to have LI on it. That said, the side panels are wrong for an SX so it might be a modified LI or a hybrid. Don't ask me how know, i'll get my zoot suit. |

![]() 1494 forum posts 403 photos | "Ahhh yes! but is it the 125 / 150 / or the 'special' ?" George - It's more than "special" because it has been sign written "Very Special". If I see it again I will post a view from the back end because I've never seen so many mirrors on a scooter. From the vintage petrol can with its solid brass stopper on the rear carrier to the silencer in the form of a can of "coke" the owner has gone completely over the top (and then some) with the embellishments. If the object was to impress then it worked and not just for me - others stopped to admire as well! Rik |

Happy days. I must admit that I actually rode a scooter for 3 days in my youth. It did get away from the lights better than my Velo, (for about 5 yards) but going round corners was a nightmare, much graunching and showers of sparks from the running boards, if that's what you call them. Got shut and went back to proper motorcycle |
