Americans who don't know the difference between 'bring' and 'take'. I agree. It really annoys me and I sometimes shout at the screen when they do it. People who start sentences with yes no. How does that work ? Many other things but I am sure they will all be covered in this post some where. regards Edited By Oldiron on 10/10/2020 23:25:56 |

Scan codes used assuming everyone has a smart phone.....I've just converted my phone from clockwork to butane gas! Getting 10% extra free when the items have shrunk in size (mars bars, sausages etc...) 8 finger rolls, 6 hot dog sausages And finally, hands free soap dispensers - why? (I always wash My hands after dispensing said soap!!!

The common expression that I see in a lot of GB posts is "Hoovering" the floor. Not vacuum that is used here. How many people actually use a Hoover made vacuum cleaner? Bah humbug, I say ! Stuff that's so poorly designed it is horrible to use: eg electronic devices with multiple functions that are operated by just four buttons. So you have to learn sequences like press #3&4 together, whilst simultaneously rubbing your head, patting your stomach and singing the Elbonian national anthem backwards in a falsetto, just to turn on the record function. There's no excuse for this now that small touch screens are cheap, but all the effort is then put into constantly 'improved' icons that are the visual equivalents of cryptic crossword clues. The local Morrisons petrol station has just installed new petrol pumps. They include a pay at the pump facility. The small display says "Press the key to pay at the kiosk". Unfortunately there is nothing to tell you which key to press, so now each pump now has a pieice of tape on it with an arrow in felt marker pen pointing to the correct button. Peter |

Do Australians still think Sellotape (transparent adhesive tape) is called Durex? In the UK, a Durex is a Condom. Optimistic young Brits out for the night in Canberra are disappointed, whilst Australian Grannies visiting London have difficulty explaining their purchase to traumatised grand-children. |
