Lifelong model maker - Started with the usual Meccano, aircraft, boats and, later on, some architectural / topographical stuff for clients.
Started Model Engineering in the late 60s with Stuart Turner 7A and then onto a 5" Britannia from original works drawings - chassis made, but will never be completed! Changed to radio controlled aircraft in the late 70's as that was my son's interest. Back to Engineering on retirement in 2002.
Other stuff - Worked for consulting engineers for 27 years - public health (water and sewage) and structural analysis of defective buildings. Became self employed in 1988 as a land surveyor, through till retirement (no time for hobbies).
Started building bungalow in 1962 - pick, shovel and wheel barrow; one brick at a time. It's easy when you're a teenager, because you know everything; it's all finished by the time you find out that you don't! Moved in 6 years later and we still live there.
