Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forum; like all walks of life there's the good, bad and just plain ugly! A rough location and outline of your experience would help people tailor responses. No point in teaching you to suck eggs.

Regards,

Andrew

It's only a matter of time before a (grand)child asks: "What's sucking eggs?"

Brian,

Ditto what everyone else has said.

If you are in my neck of the woods, you are more than welcome to pop round.

Sorry guys, yes your right a rough profile would help. 53 years old self-employed flat roofer (35 years in the game) that pays my bills. My real passion is my workshop with a lathe..miller...welders ect and i love to bring old light machinery and tools that people have thrown out back to life and just general sitting drinking coffee looking at my collection of toolssmiley. based in north west/cheshire area. ok thats enough info for now i have to catch up on all the latest new posts.

Ok we get that Brian,

I too have bought all second hand machinery and made it work for my purposes.

If you get to Llandudno call in at west shore and have a look at north wales model engineerings club new site.

Welcome Brian

We may be eccentric, nutters, high / low brows old, young, etc. etc. but whatever there will always be an answer somewhere amongst us all to any question that pops up... welcome & enjoy.

Welcome Brian, from another new member.
I'm sure that you will benefit from joining. I have benefited greatly from subscribing to ME & MEW, and the mass of information which is contained within those mags. Online access to more mag articles than you can throw a stick at, is priceless. Like you, I suspect that I may never become a model engineer, but I love making/repairing things.

And a welcome from one of the many south Cheshire blokes Brian. I have a very strange problem with my shed roof, but most of the problem is with the silly old sod who spends his time in there.

Cheers Dek.
