I'd like to say three big thank-yous.

This past month has seen well over three hundred new members of the forum, presumably not unconnected to may people having more time on their hands.

The first is to all our new forum members, especially those who have decided to post and join in with our discussions and musings. Beginners - don't forget, if you are a beginner there's no such thing as a daft question of you don't know the answer, so don't be afraid to ask for help. More experienced new members, it's great to have the opportunity to share your expertise.

The second is to all the long-standing forum members who have helped make all these new recruits welcome.

The third is Jason who helps out so much behind the scenes as well as answering all sorts of queries and questions on and about the forum. Not included in those new member numbers are plenty of new spammers and bot accounts, and without Jason's help keeping them under control the forum would be a less enjoyable place.

Given the current situation, the forum has never been busier and the sheer amount of new threads and discussions mean we can't keep an eye on everything happening, so we are relying on forum members to let us know if things get out of hand anywhere. There have been very, very few reported posts which reflects that, aside from the odd aberration, this is one of teh most helpful and friendly engineering forums.

It's good to be part of something that is helping so many of us be part of a like minded community at a time when we can't physically go to club meetings or meet up with friends.

Thanks again everyone.

Neil

A big thank you from a relative newbie to the forum to both you and Jason. My hands on experience is rather out of date, the search function usually comes up with an answer but if not I've had some great advise from the forum members. Well done all!

Well said Neil and big thanks to Jason.

Welcome to all newbies who have joined.

I would also like to thank CUP Alloys, Chronos and Arc euro trade - those suppliers that advertise on this site and give us fantastic support.

I have recently placed orders with these companies and have found them all helpful and friendly. I have received my "bits and pieces" that I ordered with no problems despite the current virus related issues that are currently causing much disruption for us all.

Great job Neil in making us all welcome, well done!

Regards to all

Derek

Well said (posted), Neil - particularly the tribute to Jason. You forgot to mention that, quite obviously, Jason is a nom-de-plume for three people. It's just not possible for any one person to get through the various activities he presents winkThis really is a nice, enjoyable forum to browse in!

The forum plays an important role in keeping me sane in these dark days of lockdown, I really miss my three days a week at the museum.

Thank you, Neil, and your colleagues running the forum, you're doing a great job.

I second that. In fact I think Jason ought to be paididea

Mr Gilligan is a mine of information and a great contributor too I don't know how he does it.

The Forum brings a lot of pleasure to a great many people, and a HUGE amount of help and information, on a wide range of subjects.

Have to admit to being a total addict!

Being a Moderator must be close to a 24/7 job.

Thanks to Neil and Jason

A big +1 to all the above posts.

This forum is a haven of sanity and amiability in these testing times.

Moderators, and many regular contributors, should feel justifiably proud of what they give to us all.

Many thanks from me ... yes

ATB,

Daniel

blush Thanks, Paul ... but I am really not worthy of being named amongst such exalted company.

I enjoy the discussion, and the occasional sparring, but praise should go to the Moderators and the forum at large.

This forum is remarkably friendly with very little friction like turns up on other forums, I visit a few places like our village noticeboard on Facebook, this kicks off now and again when the moderators have let their personal political preferences show through in some of their decisions, it was entertaining to those of us just watching the battle but of course it all blew itself out and we are back to it being the useful village info site, the youngsters started the village banter site which has few rules but direct personal attacks and threatening type behaviour are not allowed. Funnily enough the banter site is peaceful and quite a laugh if you can tolerate bad language and lewd jokes and cartoons.

All in all this is a pleasant place to visit and thank you to our moderators and contributors for making it so.

I notice that IanSC has gone absent again which is rather worrying after he explained his last absence, let’s hope he can beat whatever has caused this one.

I was wondering how Raphael is getting on as well, having read his last post, the best part of a month ago.
