I think I paid about £12 for it and it is certainly well worth the money, to recharge the battery just plug into a USB socket. Dave W Hi Dave W, are you able to post the link, if not please PM. Thanks DaveD |

Also very popular in France are 'tirefonds' which by my translation is 'pull the underneath' a hex-headed woodscrew/bolt with coarse thread, definitely requires a substantial pilot hole and counter-bore for the plain shank. isn't the number system in the french language base 20? I wonder if counting sheep is the reason. I believe in England medieval shepherds would have said 'a pimp plus a dick made a bumfit' - no sniggering at the back, it just means 5 + 10 = 15. they had different names for numbers between 1 and 20. No, French is base ten but constructs are used as in English, e.g the age of man is three-score years and ten Tim - was mentioned in Welsh lessons some forty years ago - hugain=twenty (pronounced 'eegine ) as the shepherd counting system of old. Bet the late Sir John is doing a few rotations, think it was on one of the American sites where he posted a photo of about a foot (Err 305mm - 30.5cm) long straight knurl that looked to the uninitiated like a straight cut fine pitch gear using a home cooked knurl milling tool. Regards Ian. https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=112364 Think this is the one you have in mind, Ian, from 2015 DaveD |

+1 for Echo products. Have a brushcutter with Oregon head and alligator blades. Works well with Handlebars, starts 1st time every time (de-compressor button ) Invested 49GBP in a Husquvarna body harness, no more bruised hips or sore shoulders. Also Echo 22ins chain-saw, just as dependable. |

If you do go for the SC4 from ARC, editor Neil ran a series in MEW for beginners 'using a lathe' using that very lathe and that led to a book also available from ARC, might be useful. |

There is an isolator switch on the side of the machine, which I have remembered to turn on! I have looked at the microswitches on the guards and all seem to be in their working positions: have I missed any? I know about the chuck guard, change wheel cover, and footbrake. Are there any other ones I should check?
One microswitch you may already have checked but haven't mentioned is the 'e-stop' the big red button to the right of your circled 'hl' switch. |

Working in Jeddah in the early 80's, the children's favourite was the 'China Rose' restaurant. Not for the restaurant but for the Mongolian Barbeque. A 4-foot dia cast iron plate, a central hole in the floor and a turbo-driven wood fired heat source on the floor below, sparks and all. |
