I bet it's that rusty S7 off the top of that narrow boat. Maybe the chainsaw is thrown in for good measure

To put you out of your misery, this is what it says on the side of the crate.

It would seem that ARC Eurotrade are doing their bit for the enviroment and not using polystyrene packaging which just goes to landfill, instead they have taken to packing around the machines with bits of tooling, etc.

Looks a bit like someone did a supermarket sweep of the ARC warehouse and as you can see there is a 150mm rule in there so one right answer.

Just need to work out what all these bits do and how to use themblush

Did ARC do a pre delivery prep on the mill ? It looks pretty clean and fully assembled, although we can only see the top half .

When i got my X2 it took half a day just to get the grease and wax paper off it then i had to fit the handles etc.

Hey Jason. Is there a 12.3 mm drill bit in this lot.?

If so you had better check it's tolerance with that 150 mm ruler. devil

Still dripping in chicken fat just like it left the factory. There is nothing to assemble except putting a couple of handles onto the handwheels which are reversed so they don't get knocked off.

Nick I'm not measuring the drill as that is not important, it's the hole that matters and there is a set of miniature bore gauges in there somewhere. Anyway steel rules are not for me, you should know us site boys are happiers with an old tape measuredevil

I still haven't quite finished rearranging my workshop for the SC4. the stand fitted, but I couldn't get the gearbox cover open, so I had to shorten and move my milling bench. I then had to move the mill on the bench. Then I had to move my vice. But it still clashed with the power feed, so I had to move the vice again. Which meant I had to reinforce another bench. Then I had to move my 'surface plate'. I also had to remove one shelf and put up three new ones. At least the shaper was able to stay in it's original place, but I now have a bandsaw that has no permanent home.

Friend of mine was once asked to provide a copy of the calibration cert for his tape measure, and no I'm not joking. Although I'm a great believer in QA, this sort of thing shows why you shoudn't give the job of QA man to your least competent employee.
