AAfter months of no problems (and no changes to PC, settings, browsers etc) this morning I was confronted with this.

Using Win XP and Chrome, which I don't think has a compatibility button.

I know further down the topic there are some large (nice loooking) images but there have been other topics in the last few weeks with long links/images etc so why should this suddenly happen?

Yes, also on Win 8 and Crome, by the way do not ever switch to Win 8, it is the most terrible and stuped OS ever made for a desk or laptop. Niko.

I think the problem on that threadf has gone now, and that it was caused by the original photos being rather large. For me, the same occurs if photos appear side by side, rather than one beneath the other.

Maybe there is (or should be) a maximum size for photos in your album? The thread mentioned looked fine to me right from the start.

John

Just looked and my photo of the Myford steady is still the same size so nothings changed there.

Its not a problem with photo size in the album as using the little black camera icon will show the album image at about 350wide when its in the thread. The problem is when people use the image icon and paste the url from their album or outside host without then altering the image width in the box.

But surely the website system should prevent this. Others I have used just will not let you add pictures that are larger than their permitted sizes. Phil. Carriage return not working and no compatability button here.

As has been said before nothing is going to change fast so the best thing to do is what John did, flag it up that there is a problem and then someone can try and do something about it.

It needs bringing to our or at least my attention as I can't see anything wrong on my screen, if I do spot things that are not right such as distorted images I'll do them but things like adverts over text we need to be told about. PM to me or e-mail to Diane is best as I don't read all the threads.

Is it ironic that the post pointing out that there is an issue with photo sizes causing problems with the site doing the exact same thing that is being reported?

I think it is the photo of the screenshot in the first post that is the cause.

Checking the code for this page with the official W3C Markup Validation Service they report back that it contains 17 errors so it's not surprising that it behaves differently on different browsers.

When will the website designers/technicians learn that you must follow the rules if you expect it to work properly?

Russell.

I think JasonB already answered your question when he said (a few posts ago),

"As has been said before nothing is going to change fast ........"

I know I started this thread (I should have known better) but its patently obvious that the powers that be at My Time Media have zero interest or intention of improving the website code.

I only raised the post because after this site worked trouble free for months I was surprised and mystified as to why it suddenly happened to me again.
