Thread: Balancing Bench Grinder Wheels |
10/07/2023 20:25:32 |
The grinding wheels on these cheaper bench grinders do not usually have a very close fit on the arbor. You can possibly improve a bit on the vibration by shifting the stone on its arbor and trying to find a sweet spot. Niko. Edited By speelwerk on 10/07/2023 20:34:45 |

Being a Myford from (I guess) somewhere the 1950's, is there perhaps too much play in the headstock bearings because of wear. Niko. |

Myford-metric or name it imperial-metric is accurate enough for model enginering but it is not metric. Niko. |
Thread: Rust on New Lathe |
10/11/2022 11:36:21 |
Posted by John McCulla on 10/11/2022 10:10:27:
Would it be fair to say then that the lathe should be fine going forward? In my head I have it that once metal has started to rust, it is more prone to it in the future. Is that true or am I imagining this? I think I'm going to struggle to get a replacement lathe from Warco, but I'll push for it if I feel it's merited. Obviously it would be simpler for everyone involved if I could keep this lathe. I would not except it, you have paid for a new lathe with no damage and this one has damage. They should either take this one back and replace it with a new one in pristine condition or you should get your money back, no ifs and buts. Niko. |
Thread: Mechanical Mantel Clock |
09/10/2022 10:26:50 |

Thread: Buying from the EU |
21/07/2022 10:13:54 |
Posted by pgk pgk on 21/07/2022 09:35:58:
I thought books (and charts are just large flat reference books) were vat free UK. and not subject to any other customs charges from the EU. pgk When you buy from a EU country it is not the EU that will charge you. It is the country to which the goods are exported (UK) that will charge customs duties. |
