Hi everyone have a great Christmas break and a happy new year in the workshop, I have almost finished giving the house a complete makeover and at 70s should have known better (but well after over 30 years it needed it) BUT JOY she who must be obeyed has said that I can spend as much time as I like in my workshop when finished so can complete my Springbok B1 and have it running on the track next year. Also everyone of this forum who came to the Thornbury exhibition and introduced themselves thank you it is lovely to put faces to names. Hope that I will be encouraging young people again how to use a lathe.

Bob Thomson.

Best wishes to you and yours for the coming festive occasion and good luck with your B1.

Ah well John there is always one. One of my younger grandsons (19) came round yesterday and helped me to finish the lounge said he wanted to do it for us for our Christmas.
Open the window and shout "What day is it"!!!

One thing I have learnt from reading forums such as this is that -

'There's nowt so queer as folk'

Happy Christmas

Feliz Navidad a todos

I'm spending Christmas on my own, my wife is visiting her family in the UK. Still, I have four cats and a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog to keep me company...

Hi modeng2000 - An old saying from around this area

"All volks be darft bar thee an me and thee bist darfter than me."

Hi Siddley - You will have plenty of time to spend "doing what you want to do." - have a good Xmas

A merry Xmas to all and thanks for the past three years since I joined which have been illuminating

Thanks for answering my dumb questions

Hope Xmas is fun for all and you're looking forward to 2013

At the moment I have a 16" BMS rod on the lathe making a drawbar for a collet chuck

2013 will see modifications to all three of my motorbikes and a few weekends away in the saddle enjoying the scenery

Siddley, you're never alone when you're a member of this forum.

Thanks to everyone for their encouraging comments through my first year of model engineering. Hoping to get in the workshop after Christmas Day to make a start on the S50.

The missis is leaving her laptop here and it's got a built in webcam - maybe I could do a live Christmas 'webcast from the workshop' so people can watch me getting my finger caught in the belt sander and drilling holes in the wrong place smile d

Just kidding

Hi Bob

You say "BUT JOY she who must be obeyed has said that I can spend as much time as I like in my workshop" - now is this because, after 30 years you have finally finished all the chores and she wants you out of the way?! wink ( I'm sure it isn't).

Anyway I spend (too) much of my time with photography so perhaps this, courtesy of photoshop and my wife's patchwork hobby,  is appropriate. The title is:-

SEASONS GREETINGS TO ALL

Seasons Greetings.
