G'day. I saw this on another forum and i laughed so much that i thought it was worth sharing.

Please substitute whatever you want for "spark plug" and it still works! (Copied and pasted from Facebook}

This hits the nail on the head!

How many FaceBook group members does it take to change a spark plug?

1 to change the spark plug and to post that spark plug has been changed.
14 to share similar experiences of changing spark plugs and how the spark plug could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing spark plugs.
27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing spark plugs.
15 know-it-alls who claim *they* were in the industry, and that "spark plug" is an electrical device threaded into the cylinder of an internal-combustion engine to ignite the fuel mixture by producing timed sparks between electrodes.
2 to post that this group is not about spark plugs and to please take this discussion to a spark plug group.
27 to defend the posting to this group saying that we all use spark plugs and therefore the posts *are* relevant to this group.
16 to debate which method of changing spark plugs is superior, where to buy the best spark plugs, what brand of spark plugs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.
2 to post URL's where one can see examples of different spark plugs.
12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the spark plug controversy.
4 to suggest that posters request the spark plugs FAQ.
16 to post "F".
44 to ask what is a "F"?
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
3 to say "do a Google search on spark plugs before posting questions about spark plugs".
14 to post photos of spark plugs they own.
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again....

Danny, unfortunately its all very true but it did not make me laugh.

The only thing missing is 'the OP asked the question and was never heard from again'

5 to state that they own a Diesel and don't need spark plugs anyway .

1 who will post youtube links so they can watch a sparkplug being changed ( thats usually me ! )

50 wannabe engineers that will search google first then quote some obscure formula for the thermal conductivity of ceramic insulators and claim they wrote it !

At least one that will woffle on about something totally unrelated and sometimes quote some garbage from a long dead famous writer .

50 or more a year will ask if Chinese spark plugs are any good or should i buy a used English made spark plug.!

Happy new year !

Ian .

You forgot the one that just has to post about his latest find on eBay - an EDM machine. Sure it's not a spark plug but it is electrical and it does spark. Hotly followed by the 10 sheep that jump into line behind that hijack.

Not to forget the 10 who post to say that new Chinese spark plugs are rubbish and they are still using the good quality British spark plug they bought as a boy in 1906, having carried it with them from motorcycle to motorcycle as they upgraded over the years.

Then the 20 who post to say they use Chinese spark plugs all the time with no problems at all and they are far superior to a worn out old British spark plug. And they are cheaper to buy, thus saving the spark plugging hobby from extinction.

And the 1 who posts to point out the correct term is "sparking plug" and not "spark plug" so none of the previous posters really knows what they are talking about.

Then there is always some bright spark who will plug a particular brand

And another who will try to make an electrifying  joke about it, thus igniting an explosion of further jokes & adding fuel to the ridiculous affair

What about references to earlier articles to make and recycle your own spark plugs.

Quite right too, it would have been off-topic - the word WITH the 'e' is the plural of 'fax'.

Best regards,

Swarf, Mostly!
