MEW 250 Arrived in time for Christmas, happy bunny. The pocket mags one for my phone appeared this morning and they want £4.99 to read it.

How difficult can be to get this sorted out, this is not the first time there has been issues....

Just got an e-mail notification that 4551 was available to view but when I visit the site 4550 is the latest one.

Looks like half the site is still on holiday, doubt much can be done until after the bank holiday.

Yep, same problem here with MEW250 although ME 4551 downloaded without issue. 'Bout time Pocketmags were binned, why go to the expense and inconvenience of this rubbish format when they could simply allow subscribers to download a PDF as I do with some of my other mag subscriptions like Elektor for instance.

For anyone on a digital only subscription, this is completely unacceptable!

Cos you're dealing with the accountants who run M E

Every shekel counts.

Regards Ian.

Got the e-mail notification this morning but when I log in no sign of MEW 250! Strange that the Post Office can deliver hard copies before Christmas but the electronic version takes over a week longer. Perhaps PocketMags uses special slow electrons...

Hello Folks,

I'm afraid I doubt I can get thios sorted until after the bank holiday, but I will do my best

If you look at the other titles using Pocketmags, you will see they deal with many of the biggest magazines out there - they are not a budget option.

Digital publishing is still developing and problems will happen from time to time; what we have found is that pocketmags will sort things promptly, but I am afraid the New Year will cause some delay this time.

Those who buy the issue at the newsagent - because of the holiday the on-shelf date was put back to 4 January (I did post the date a week or more ago, and this is why I haven't put a preview up yet).

Still no sign of being able to access MEW 250. Unless of course I want to buy a copy!! PocketMags might not be a budget option, just NOT a very good option...

Just to confirm that I can read it, I only recently became a subscriber though but I do have access to it. The screwchuck is probably the highlight for me of this one.

Hello John,

Glad you got sorted, I haven't heard back from the technical people yet, but I'm assuming that this problem was affecting you and Graeme as no-one else seems to have reported the problem.

@Graeme - are you now able to see issue 250? If not have you contacted Pocketmags support?

Still not able to see issue 250 so have emailed pocketmags, not the first time I've had this problem so bank holidays etc are not a valid excuse, they mignt be a big organisation but they need to sort this out properly, digital publishing is not exactly a new technology nor is it rocket science, the delivery method used by pocketmags is far from bleeding edge.

Hi,

I also have a Pocketmags problem .... The latest issues of Model Engineer (4551) & Model Engineer Workshop (Jan-17) are not available to download as part of my subscriptions .... I have tried through the offline reader, IPAD app and via the website to download/read them but the only option given is to buy them!

I haven't cancelled my request to support which includes looking at ME4550.
