Nope! I believe the guy organising it was struggling with some personal issues a while ago so I haven't followed the matter up any further. When all's said & done he was collecting, sorting & posting parcels out just for a token charity donation so complaining seemed a little unfair!

Regards, Martin.

Gentlemen, your patience has been exemplary.

I feel a significant burden of responsibility for allowing this to continue to long.

I am sure the original offer was sincere and the first batch or two of plastic bundles were sent out, you can look pack at the postings to see the record of events since then.

I can only suggest that you write this episode off to experience, and make the assumption that the parcels will not be forthcoming.

While the arrangements were private ones between forum members, I would like to offer my sincere apologies to anyone affected.

I'm sorry that a well-meaning initiative has resulted in disappointment and upset for so many people.

Please be sure that I requested that no further offers were made many months ago, and that as far as I know, this has been respected.

Neil

I think Neil has explained it quite well.

But after having been in nearly the same boat as Graham about a couple of years ago I known just how it affects you as what you can get done etc and the demands on your time. Fortunately I'm a bit ahead of Graham now but I'll tell you what I'll do.

.

Anyone is is that hard up and desperate for the money outlayed, can they PM me the amount and Paypal address and I'll repay the sum direct to them.

This way instead of having Graham on your sh*t list you will be on mine wink

John.

it was nothing to do with the money. It was not knowing, and having had an email from Graham saying the parcel was on it's way, which didn't arrive. I tried to contact Graham but he's not reading emails. Looking back at PM's I'd sent him, he's not done so for months.

so, I asked the question on here.

I agree with Martin's point above. It seemed a generous offer of time and effort at the time and if personal problems made it not possible to fulfill the offer, well, I for one am just grateful that his problems are not my problems. I wish the man well.

I never received anything. I responded quickly to the original offer and paid in September 2014. I gathered that a large number of people responded to the offer and so expected a bit of a wait for a package.

It was then explained that the original offerer had some personal issues, so I let the matter rest. However, when he started posting regularly on this forum again (April 2015) I started a conversation via PMs. I was told a parcel was sent in April, but it didn't arrive. The PM conversation continued sporadically until July when I was told another parcel had been sent. Again nothing arrived. My last PM, asking for a tracking number, does not appear to have been read. I've now written this off.

John: I don't need the money, but you can make a £10 donation to the RNLI on my behalf.

John, you're a kind hearted soul and I'd like to think I am too. I'm not out for blood or compensation, I paid somewhere around a tenner on the understanding it was going to charity and have no reason whatever to believe that it didn't get to its intended destination. I didn't get the plastic bundle but to be honest, even if I had, it probably would have languished in a dark corner of my workshop along with a load of other stuff that I've accumulated over the years because it was cheap and/or might come in useful one day!

So, to put a positive spin on the situation, someone less fortunate than me has had a little help and in return my workshop is ever so slightly less cluttered than it might have been! Looking at it another way, I've just saved you a tenner which puts you seven quid in pocket after taking out that heavy loss of £3 you reckon that Ketan still owes you, so now you can write that off and go and buy yourself a couple of beers to celebrate!

Regards Martin.

Received my first lot, then told Graham that there was no rush on the second.

Knowing he had personal issues, I've not bothered him since.

"If He would have communicated it would have helped"

Mark, when you are in that situation you find you can't communicate, not that you don't want to.

Been there.
