Have you looked on the back of the printed circuit, look for dry joints on the pins to the lcd display.

There is a MBC 12v halogen lamp which is 6W, number is HW6/Bax95, used on some of the more exotic cars, as front sidelight bulbs, under-run at 6V should last a very long time.

Thank you Jason for the explanation, and Tony P will let you know the outcome when my tap arrives at the end of next week.

A local friend came to my rescue with a 5/32 BSW tap, after tapping the part it screwed onto the probe about half a turn, so have now ordered, an 8-32 tap, can someone tell me what the 8 in the 8-32 stands for?

Tony I will not hold you to your promise of a refund, after all I could tap some Meccano parts now.

16/05/2020 13:24:56

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, I have ordered a 5/32 BSW set of taps, as Tony P said it will work.

Hi, Thank you for the replies, just found my engineers Black Book, and it looks as if it could be 5/32 BSW, which is not listed in Zeus

Hi Chris,

The gears are plastic, it might be possible to get some 3D printed, if you can find out the data on the gears needed.

Hi John, after you said the Novamill was never available with an R8 Spindle, I had to go and check to make sure I was not having a senior moment, the mill is not being used at the moment, but yes it is an R8 spindle.

Hi John,

I have the same milling machine, and on mine the BT30 holder was an adaptor, into an R8 spindle taper.

So on my mill the actual spindle is R8, removing the adaptor gave a lot more headroom.

Thread: What are these pliers for
15/10/2019 15:12:53

I have a pair of the pliers shown in the first photo, and have always thought they are used to crimp scotch lock connectors on wires, if that's not what they are designed for, they do this job admirably.

Hi most of Parkside items are warranted for 3 years, but you have to have the original till receipt.

I do not know if this includes batteries.

Thread: This weeks offer at Lidl
22/11/2018 15:39:08

Hi All, some useful items coming up at Lidl on 29th November, Die grinder with 6 and 3.2mm collets £19.99, variable speed would make an ideal tool post grinder, and a pair of pump up airbags rated at 135Kg, ideal for lifting and holding things in place.

Thread: Kennedy Power Hacksaw Gaiter
08/09/2018 13:52:02

img_0399.jpgPhoto's of gaiter fitted to saw and spare one I found, img_0398.jpg which would be suitable, is from a clutch slave cylinder.

I also have some pdf files of the original manual, if anyone would like a copy, I don't think I can upload pdf to this posting.

The gaiters from car steering racks would be suitable.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, I will not use it for the case, instead will look at fitting a foot switch to control it, but did not like the idea of switching the mains with a foot switch.

And I think it would have to be quite a substantial relay, to switch the output from the transformer.

Michael G. Thank you for the link, it looks as if the one shown has an extra din plug fitted to the front of it, probably for a foot switch.
