Ban cars

I don't mind as long as it's just yours. A better idea would be to include an IQ test as part of the driving test. Less than 150 - auto fail.

Ban Backpacks from all indoor areas, except when used by the Emergency Services.

Ban the word "like" from being spoken unless it is in the correct context.

That will do for now or I might go into full G.O.G. mode.devil

I am fully aware that many of the energy forms I quoted are not 'green' but the point I was making was that there is widespread 'support' of green energy (and we all need energy) but there appears to be equal oppostion to any form of energy production.

What is green energy anyway, many people don't look at the overall energy cost.

As I said with my follow up post it is mainly me being an old grump.

I was saying to my son the other day I wish I had some of the mentality I had when I was a teenager, the bit that enables you to sail through life without being irritated by:- loud music, garden fires, barking dogs, people who can't drive, 'sophisticated' people who are extremely stupid...........

I would just ban the politicians and dodgy lawyers. Then there would be no-one left to ban anything.......................

I think you may have underestimated ordinary peoples abilities in that respect.

Well, that to me just sounds like being a contrarian,

so long as you're in the outside group you feel comfortable. It's implied to be more of a state of mind, or psychological rather than a genuine philosophy, feeling like whoever has the biggest voice is always wrong, simply because it's the biggest.

Then again, wasn't it Reagan (ray-gun!) who said that the majority was actually the quietest group of people? I can well believe that.

I have to confess (if you hadn't guessed) that I was more in tap-room than tea-room mode when I started this thread. Light the blue touch paper and retire (to at least 20 metres). It's been interesting reading though. Apart from individual gripes about other people's irritating behaviour, there seems to be a feeling that education is the thing. Which is what I think.

Sometimes I don't notice my little dog sneaking into my work area -but she's had one sniff at a blue hot chip coming off the lathe (she sees things as potentially edible, pointless, or threatening) , didn't fancy it and now sits six foot away if she wants to watch. Animal intelligence!

Apologies for any keyboard logorrhoea, Rob

Random amounts of extra time in football matches. Stopping the clock during breaks in play would be fairer.

I hasten to add that I am not a football follower.

Ban HGV's between 1 am and 11pm.

How would they deliver your 12 mm milling cutter with their 40 ft artic down your street other than between 11pm &. 1 am when all the cars are parked in it? Then knock you up at midnight to sign for it . Then knock you up to collect it when you find they have sent half inch not 12mm

I'm really tempted to agree - I hate the idea of "self-harm in the cause of fashion".

...but ban them and before you know it, the H&S zealots will have banned anything with a cutter and a motor without bullet-proof guarding round it.

Something that should be banned - large HGV's running on their speed limiter and overtaking others doing the same on dual carriage ways and motor ways. We would all get there a lot quicker if they stopped this and use less fuel. It seems that they should drive to a 10 second rule - if overtaking takes longer don't.

devilMake every one else overtake in 10 secs or lees too.

You should have noticed what started to happen probably when you were around 40 or so and resisted it. You probably need therapy now.

Maybe they should just ban common sense, that would save our politicians creating legislation to ban things all the time

At Westminster they've already banned common sense anyway
