Hi Neil

Yes I am up for that although I am usually a silent onlooker!!

Any day and time should be OK with me.

Great idea.

Regards

Brian

Neil, please shoot me a link when the time comes.

Cant promise to be able to make it, or to contribute much. But any kind of interactive exchange sounds great from where I'm sitting!!!

Cheers, Colin

Hmmm, 5 am. Maybe not. Nice idea though. It would be interesting to hear the different accents. Mine is broad 'Stralian but I can posh it up depending upon to whom I am speaking.

I believe it is possible to post Zoom meeting when finished. Are you planning this Neil?

mmmm time zone problem. We were doing 12 noon UK to fit in with Mebourne but then they changed their clocks a few weeks ago, and we change soon and both go in opposite directions to make it worse. If we start at 7pm UK and discuss on the meeting whether anyone is up for a follow on (same day) at 9pm UK it would be a bit more reasonable for the antiodeans and still time to book it.

I have set up a meeting!

Everyone who has expressed an interest will get a PM from me a starting as follows:

Neil Wyatt is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: Model Engineer Forum Online
Time: Oct 20, 2020 08:00 PM London

It will also contain a link as well as a meeting ID and password.

Because there are so many interested I won't be sending personalised messages.

Meeting rules will be simple, please keep your microphone muted when not speaking, use the 'raise your hand' icon or a note in the 'chat' if you would like to speak.

Forum etiquette applies, keep it family friendly and no sex, politics or religion, please

Cameras optional, if you don't have a microphone, please introduce yourself in the chat.

This is an experiment, so we may not get far past just introducing ourselves and saying hello, but we don't know until we try!

Thanks everyone,

Neil

THIS IS EMBARRASSING AND POTENTIALLY CONFUSING!

I have set the meeting time for 19:00 next Tuesday and for London timezone, but the invites show 20:00.

It seems that ZOOM is confused about when the clocks go back (25 October), so it's showing London as GMT +0 next week instead of GMT+1 (i.e. BST) but it's adding the hour on for the invitations .

I have no idea if should change it to 18:00 in the settings or not.

It seems the actual time won't affect the other meeting details.

What I will do is try and get hold of Zoom for clarification and make a posting here to confirm.

Sorry for the potential confusion this will cause.

Neil

Neil,

Is their a limit on "listeners"?

I'd like to be part in this, but on the side lines.

Jim
