This is nothing to do with Model Engineering but this is the only way I could think of of starting a UK wide search. The problem is my 93 year old mother in-law has exstreamly marrow feat size AAA and she is desperate to buy some new shoes before the ones she has fall to bits. We took her to her usual shoe shop in North Wales on Saturday only to find that the shop had shut down and we can’t find any other shop who stock AAA width shoes so does anyone out there know of any specialist shoe shop who stocks them. You would make a lovely lady happy

Cheers

Stew

My late mother had the opposite problem of very swollen feet. She had some shoes made for her. I think she found the person thorough the local health care.

I guess she would not like to do Internet shopping. Google turned up **LINK**

Have you looked to see the name of the shoe company who made the shoes she has? They may be able to point you to a stockist.

Out of curiosity, took a look at AdrianR's link and am sure that Stew could send off for a fitment chart and measuring kit to do the necessary for M.I.L

I mentioned your post to my wife and she said she had seen an advert for narrow fitting shoes in one of her womens magaxines.

She found the following contacts:

James Inglis Tel 0330 121 1111 or jamesinglis.com

I hope this helps

Michael Cox 1, or should that be Mrs MC1, good call, that is the company mentioned in AdrianR link and my post. No idea of pricing but appeared to be well organised with a good range of shoe types.

Try Google "shoemakers Nottingham UK" try some of the older names, Barkers, Loake, Tricker etc even if they don't show anything contact them and ask -- you may find them helpful. Worth a try ?

Might try Northampton as well. I thought Nottingham was famous for machine-made lace....

Leicester used to be a centre of shoemaking so that may be another 'yellow pages' to search through

In the 'fifties my grandfather had a cobblers in Bedford and used to make shoes for anyone who asked and they were not expensive. Within half a mile of his shop I can think of at least two more cobblers who also made shoes. But times have changed and most of the old snobs are rested at last. Not to worry though, as so often these days Google can assist:

I usually can't find 1/2 sizes ( there is usually only two sizes,Too big and too small), and width fitting is just about unheard of.
