I'll pass, the time difference to Australia (plus the time delays in transmission) may make it more frustrating than enjoyable.

A tip for those without webcams, most phones (Android and I-phone) can be set up as a web camera by connecting to your modem and using appropriate software. For Android phones it is Droid-cam. You can connect via USB or WiFi. I've used it many times for other Zoom meetings over the past 6 months.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the responses, I will PM everyone the link tomorrow morning.

Neil

Only 15 minutes of 'morning' left. Or have I been left out crying

By the way if you want to extend the meeting length you can go in right afterwards and book another one with the same credentials and for the very next time slot and people can just get in early with the same link. Works on our family one. You can probably prebook it, or perhapw even book an overlapping follow on.

Neil, like Bazyle I've been checking the mailbox for the link, is the meeting still on ?

Thanks for the tip on the camera.

Of course you know we spent the call slagging off Australians who were too lazy to get up early wink put this in the past tense as you are probably in bed by now.

Invites sent, let me know by PM if you have missed out.

Sorry to anyone receiving duplicates, I've sent several dozen and it's hard to be sure if I have duplicated.

Neil, me, Keith, Andrew Johnson,, Simon Davis, David, Pete, Martin K, Malc, Emgee, Colin Hillclimber, John Allen, Oldiron, Bill Williams, Gordon Bullard and one other I think.

We saw a very nice v8 engine block and head from Emgee only about hand sized and having some 10BA threads to hold it together.
A Stuart 7a finallyfinished by John Allen,
an unusual diestock from Oldiron's granfather for cutting 45tpi threads,
an Eureka backing off tool from Tubal,
the electronics for a leadscrew stepper drive frrom Simon who deboxed an old 2m Tx to recover the dicast box for the project,
and a couple of knurling tools from Neil and Oldiron.

Neil is planning the next one for early December. Tuesdays suit me but maybe not him as he ditched two other zoom calls in favour of Model Engineering.
Tomorrow is St Albans cub night for me.

Happy chatting everyone.

Oh dear, the parts I showed didn't even merit a mention. embarrassed I knew it was a mistake to show them after the stunning engine block and cylinder head shown by Emgee.

Sorry Andrew, I was concentrating too hard on your explanation of silver soldering the ring on the end of the rod to actually write anything down.
