More about me:

Been involved with N-gauge model trains all my life.  Spent many happy hours as a boy browsing my grandfather's collection of ME magazines and using his vice to crack macadamia nuts, but found his lathe too intimidating at the time.  Did mechanical engineering at uni, spent most of my working life designing fire protection and fire safety systems.  Inherited the lathe when my grandfather passed away in the late 70's but did not know how to use it until retirement a couple of years ago. Steep learning curve since then, and by no means a proficient user yet, but lathe is now one of my prized possessions.
