"Looks like lockdown is getting to someone"

That could apply to a lot of us when you consider how much interest has been has generated by absolutely s*d all.

This could be one of those weird advertising campaigns.

Once everyone has finished talking about this there will be another post.

"Warco more sense"

Another pause until it is revealed that Warco have released a new lathe that can sense exactly what you need and cracks on with it!

David.

Did you say something, Michael?

Perhaps there will be thread about Warco and baked beans saying "why should Weetabix have all the fun" ?

The tidied up comment should be visible now.

My thought is that without knowing the question, or at least some idea of what it was, it's impossible to judge whether or not the response was reasonable.

If it was hoping the serial number might reveal specific details of a machine beyond its model number, this may well not be the case.

If it is any consolation, my ETR BL12-24, which is a Warco BH 600 clone, the Serial number was obviously the month and year of manufacture.

Possibly too much too much to expect a Chinese manufacturer, producing in higher volumes, to have such a sophisticated Serial numbering system as Myford?.

What's the question if the answer is cock robin?

Thanks for that. I won't risk blocking Rik to see what happens in case I can't get him back. I wonder what happens if you block yourself. kulou.

Perhaps the title could be changed to avoid any unwarrented criticism of an advertiser.

Another edit as I didn't see all the explanations.
When writing specifications I used to include a serial number format that allowed us to see exactly what day it was made. None ever complied and one major Ameriacan company seems to use random numbers. It makes it very difficult for us to track systematic faults which is perhaps the reason they do it.

What's the question if the answer is cock robin?

Does it start: "Batman....?"

Why wouldn't the info be on the Warco site for all to see? It's not like they make special one offs.

Andy_G you've got it!

What's the question if the answer is cock robin?

Batman, why won't this chicken lay eggs?

Now, what is the Warco question?

Today i sent a message to Warco asking about a machine they recently sold and included the serial number. The answer from Steve was "I have no information about this ***** Best regards, Steve.

Sounds like he did not understand your problem. Best to call them and discuss in person I would say.

Another vote for "what is the Warco question?"

It looks to me like a standard response/brush off where the sender is meant to insert "lathe", "machine", "item", "tool", "kitten" or whatever" in place of ***** rather than typing the whole message but omitted to do so.
