Model Engineers Workshop Lost The Plot

I have just received the latest Model Engineers Workshop.

On page 7 it says coming up in our next issue MEW 257 will be another rewarding read.

Then there is a photo of a Sino digital readout.

Does this mean we are getting an article on how to read a digital readout?

On page 38 it says next issue. I assume this is for Model Engineers Workshop as this is the magazine it is in.

It says:

ENV Aero Engine

Rosebud Grates

Halstead

The Doncaster Exhibition

Micro-Lights.

I would have thought this was a next issue for Model Engineer not Workshop.

Oh, I have just seen page 62 Next issue for Model Engineers Workshop.

And here was me thinking it was just two bits of carelessness and could not be bothered when in reality it was just plain lazy as regards page 7 and a cock on page 38.

Also on page 7 bottom right it mentions a Myford 2545 lathe. Is this similar to a Myford 254S?

Unlike previous editors, I do not get the magazine for free so as I am paying for a subscription I feel I can criticise it.

I find David Clarks remarks unpleasant. The MEW editor has advised the forum that he has neither time, budget or skill to check the content of the magazine. Nuff said???

I'll leave it as is, just goes to show how easily small errors can creap in

Answer: No, that means that the content of the magazine, on which readers rely when spending time and money on their hobbies and businesses, cannot be relied on. Therefore, it is grossly unhelpful to stifle comment - which might serve us all by resulting in improvements.

I have a doctor who has neither the time nor the budget to treat me properly. Ditto my council and my roads. I don't want my hobby to be managed in the same way as my health or my driving.

Well I'm sure we won't see you two moaning when the cover price of the mag doubles to pay for a full time Editor and sub editors who are specialists in the various fields that Neil is not skilled enough in to be able to spot errors in the submitted work

I am sorry for your health, and road condition problems, but are you in purchasing mew(or taking part in this forum) allowing your hobby to be managed in the manner that is the cause of your objection?

You have the facility to ,in a limited way, have to change doctors government and council

As a personal gripe the IT revolution sees an increasing number of amateurs playing at professionals as a result the service (?) standards diminish in proportion. No doubt there are other views..............

256 is available to digital subscribers and I suspect has been posted to print subscribers, this is usual as they get it about a week before it hits the shops

Opened MEW 256 at random on page 70 to find Figure 9 is a graph entitled 'Coffee Cup Sterling'. Robert Stirling is spinning in his grave.

I think the idiot responsible for this shockingly incompetent howler should be hunted down and flogged!

On second thoughts, chocolate and flowers are far more appropriate. Not to put too fine a point on it, the individual in question is, it may surprise you to learn, one whom your present interlocutor is in the habit of defining by means of the perpendicular pronoun.
