Thread: Anyone got a Rhubarb clump still going? |
14/01/2023 09:17:17 |
Rhubarb was part of my life as far back as I can remember, and still is, but it seems to be looked down on these days. When I lived in Dublin, it grew in our garden, year in year out, we did nothing to it, it just came back each year. When I moved to the sticks, the first thing I did was to plant six crowns and six apple threes, glad to say all took off and are doing well. But guess what ? nobody wants rhubarb anymore ! Perhaps if it came in a tin or a pre-pack it might be different. Hard to believe, but some people had no idea what it was when they saw it growing, thinking it was a weed. Different times, different world ! |

The one I like is the guy who is known as a "High Powered Team Leader" [HP or KW ? ]. these people dont have meetings with their "Teams", they have "Face Time " ! Since many of them talk through their butt, the meetings must be very interesting indeed. Roll on the next buzz words ! PS, I forgot about "Touch Base", but I suppose that,s old had by now. |

I wish someone would "Reach out " to me ! I,m not too fussy which part of me they want to " contact", or should that be "impact" Seems like we have an a lot to learn still. Very hard to keep up with the "In" words these days. |

I think the man with the welly boot expressed something along those lines too ! One can "prove" almost anything with "statistics", as we all know. Example, With nuclear power, electricty will be so cheap that we will not be able to give it away ?????????? I think we all know how that worked out ! |

I have learned that there is NO limit imposed on the final size of a scrap box, like a Hill-Billy house, it can and does continue to grow ! Also, it is easier to misread a rule, so as to produce undersize, than to produce oversize, thus producing even more scrap. |
Thread: Changing the motor in Drill press |
07/01/2023 16:17:06 |
Hi Andrew, Not quite sure why you would want to do this. I have a floorstanding drilling machine, which I use for everything, wood and metal. It has a middle pulley, giving 16 speeds, just by changing the belts, so where is the gain ? Just wondering ? |

You can charge anything you like for something as long as you can find others thick enough to pay the price ! Always has been, always will be ! As the mad said "There,s one born every minute " |

The "Experts" know as much about Global Warming as my dog knows about the Internet. These things have been happening since time began, not just since last year. |

I am surprised that none of you know what it is !
It is, of course, a Wasim, Mk 2, easy to identify by the two handles sticking out from the back. Years ago everyone had one, then they all bought Myfords. Maybe it,s time to bring them back ? |

Just reading some of the latest posts on this subject. I have never bought from Warco, so I cannot comment either way, but I am reminded of a comment made by an old friend many years ago. He was employed in car sales, and very good at it too, with a great record. He said, "Any fool can sell to a customer once, but can he sell to them twice ?" This guy sold to his customers, and their families, over and over again. One sale is nothing, repeat sales are everything, cars/machines, all the same. Would not be too impressed with that response, might have expected something better. |
