Well I am all set to visit the show on Thursday and Friday, I visited this show for the first time last year on the spur of the moment and thoroughly enjoyed it. Am I right in thinking this show replaced the one I used to visit every year at Donnington?

I noticed that Axminster Tools are attending this year. I haven't seen them at M.E. shows for years, or have I just not noticed them? Glad to see them there anyway.

Now I must nip to the cash point for a wedge of notes to buy tooling I need desperately, and then store them away for years until one day they may actually be needed, what a hobby!

Yes, its the same one, organised by the 'other' magazine. I went to the Donington one twice.

I'm hoping to go. Not sure what day yet. It would be good if we could agree a time & place for a forum meet-up.

I'll be there on Saturday. Easy to spot me, glasses, beard and going grey. So that narrows it down to 50% of the attendees. smiley

Hi, I'll be going on Sunday, for three reasons really. Thursday and Friday I'll be working, Saterday I have one of my niece's wedding to go to, so it only leaves Sunday and anyway I'll have to collect my exhibit then also.

Regards Nick.

We could be twins!

Stub Mandrel.

Yes it would be interesting to meet up with some forum members.

I just hope the rain eases off a bit. I think it is about a 180 mile round trip for me, but it was well worth it last year. I am sure there are others that travel a lot further.

I'll be there - description as Gary, but beard uncertain. Probably being shaved off for an interview tomorrow

Still not sure of the day.

I look a bit like the guy in the Norden articles, but five or six years greyer and a bit heavier...

Thanks for the link Martin - I used to go to this one but, since moving, it's a round trip of about 400 miles ( or about £80 of fuel) - so maybe not this year!

So do I. I got stuck in the mud in the "car park" last year. Four-wheel drive this year. Hopefully I won't need it.

Yes, be careful where you park.

I went two years ago and parked on flat grass with a very slight rise in front of the front wheels up to the grity track between the cars. The 'flat grass' turned out to be on a thickness of squelchy mud and the car just slithered about. A couple of show-goers helped by towing me out and as I left I noticed two or three fwd vehicles pulling other cars.

I can't claim glasses or a beard but there can't be many single ladies wandering around the show on their own getting passionate about models, castings and tools. So I might be a little easier to spot when I go this Friday.

Please say hello it would be nice to put some faces to the names teeth 2.

Went to the show yesterday morn. Was very surprised by the huge numbers of cars in the car park. Could see why when we got in. Very, very crowded and quite difficult to see what the trade stands had on them. Gave up trying to look at some of them and moved on. Model stands less crowded though and plenty examples of superb craftsmanship.

Good friendly atmosphere but spoilt by being so crowded. I will give it a miss in the future even though it is only an hour distant.

Rik, don't give up when it's right on your doorstep. Just ask people for the next few days to give a 'traffic report' to get the best day. Then also everyone who reads the forum will go on that day next year too.
