Hi Chris, Maybe you could pop a picture on here as well as the vidio, youtube's abit of a bind as I at least am on dial up, and it takes ages to load. Even a photo from a web cam does OK. Ian S C

Chris, thats great, I thought of doing that with a pressure cooker on the S9, but my sister desided she needed it more than I did, so it headed off 40 K, but you have reinforced the idea thank you. Ian S C

No the idea came to me from the top end, WW2 Stuart Turner two cylinder steam engine for charging radio batteries, army pressure cooker, also used for transporting the engine/generator inside it (the cooker was a little larger than Chris's one. Ian S C

That is great. While I worry about if I have the right size reamer and if ENxx will be OK you make an engine and have it running. I will try and learn from what you have done - many congratulationsface 1

Ian and Steve, I cannot take credit for this, came across while searching for something else on youtube, and thought it would be interesting to other member's.

Great inovation - did see preasure cooker used to produce steam to feed into low preasure tube which was used for steaming and then bending hardwoods - that was in back garden joinery works in "Aus"

They made very high quality small joinery furniture (Dolls house scale 1/12 fullsize)

?Any one else knows of use for pressure cookers (Not Food Cooking)?

Some, but not all, cappuccino machines have a boiler. the lid contains a safety valve and there are two 'take offs'. One uses steam pressure to force hot water through the coffe, the other is a steam jet for milk frothing. The former is no use to us, but the latter is a good source of steam at a fair pressure for small engines - just put a silicon pipe over the end.

They can cope with being boiled dry (having thermal cutouts) and have a design so that they cannot be over-filled, the only limitation is the relatively small water volume.

I have one of these boilers, removed from its case, the only reason I haven't done anything with it yet is the need to make an (electrically) insulated container that is also waterproof.

Hmmm = I wonder if an electric shower could be re-worked into a flash steam boiler ?

I'd love to see the club Boiler Inspector's face when presented with these.

I couldn't get the smiley to go at the end of my post.

Thanks for that Neil, now I know a bit more about coffee, I use a spoon of instant in the cup, have got a plunger thing for when I have that sort of coffee, the only thing I'v had to do with perk coffee was making a sort of weight thingy out of a bit of 303 stainless for my brother in law, but I'm still at a loss to know what that was for. Enough about coffee, it will keep me awake. Ian S C

I'm an expert barrista.I usually drink tea instead of coffee because of the effect on my waterworks, but my wife insists on a fresh cappuccino every morning!
