![]() 4318 forum posts 291 photos 1 articles | Not being the sort of person drawn to facebook etc. even so I ocassionally fancy rambling about topics nothing to do with Model Engineer (or just on the borders like full size aircraft). Often there are discussions started which wander way off topic too. Could we have a chat or 'wibble' topic where these things could go? No particularly strong reason except I've just invented a recipe for spinach and stilton soup and have a strong urge to share it... Neil |

Don't tempt me off topic! Oh go on then A delicious recipe for those who have high blood pressure/cholesterol and want to eat something wicked at least once a month. Chop a couple of small potatos, half an onion and a few crushed garlic cloves and brown in olive oil. Add 3/4 pint milk, a little water and a big handful of baby spinach leaves and bring to boil. Throw in a generous heap of mixed herbs (Tesco Value) a dash of tabasco and a dash of soy sauce (less salt!) Simmer until the potatos are soft and add lots of stilton. Once stilton melts put in a blender. Whizzz up and eat with nice bread with too much low-cholesterol spread on.
Remember Stilton cuts best with plenty of top rake and no coolant. And don't tell your doctor Neil |

![]() 2314 forum posts 139 photos | Neil "I've just invented a recipe for spinach and stilton soup and have a strong urge to share it..." Is that because you wish someone else to try your recipe before you take the chance and try it yourself? Yes a "General Chat" topic would be good but how would you persuade folk to post their random comments etc. there rather than in the middle of the serious and profound discussions that take place on all threads at present? Surely too there would need to be some categorisation of these "General Topics" or , where several topics were being discussed on the same thread, there could be a danger of misunderstandings occuring. For example - imagine a few folk discussing tasty recipies and ingredients with you when someone else suggests a magic ingredient to add - but he is, in fact, responding to previous posts about ways for detering cats doing what they will do in your garden. ( You can while away a few hours thinking of other disasterous possibilities) Cheers! Norman PS. Man who wants pretty nurse, must be patient.
Passionate kiss, like spider web, leads to undoing of fly. Better to be pissed off than pissed on. Lady who goes camping must beware of evil intent. Squirrel who runs up woman's' leg will not find nuts. Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion. Man who eats many prunes get good run for money. War does not determine who is right, it determines who is left. Man who fight with wife all day get no piece at night. It takes many nails to build a crib, but one screw to fill it. Man who drives like hell is bound to get there. Man who stands on toilet is high on pot. Man who live in glass house should change clothes in basement. Man who fish in other man's well often catch crabs. Finally CONFUCIUS SAY. . ........ "A lion will not cheat on his wife, but a Tiger Wood!" Hope that nobody is offended but it did make me laugh... ![]() 3988 forum posts 1799 photos | Hi, well a colleague and me were working out on a couple of sites today in close proximity to each other. When we finished loading all the tools back in the van on the second site, I took this very seasonal photo which I though looked very picturesque. Can anybody guess where we were. First clue, we were not in the workshop yard. No prizes for a correct guess. Regards Nick. |

Ian S C ps Think we'v got the Yanks worried in the Americas Cup Yatching. |

218 forum posts 8 photos | With reference to Ian S C posting, my wife and I lived in Hawera in New Zealand from 1974 to 1977, when we had a powercut it was DARK! the only illumination was from the stars and that was fantastic, we bought a small telescope and the detail on the moon was amazing, we experienced an earthquake on 04/11/1974 around 10pm that registered 5.6 on the richter scale SCARY! lampshades dancing around on the ceiling, tv moving around the room on its wheels and the noise made by the wooden house we lived in was eerie, we returned to the UK by truck travelling with a group of like minded souls via Nepal,India,Pakistan,Afghanistan,Iran,Turkey,Greece,Bulgaria and parts of Europe, the whole trip took 4.5 months and was an experience to say the least, If I needed any machining or need of tools I visited the local metal shop and used his facilities for the price of a few beers. Happy Days. |

I recall we renamed the Sleeper Heavy "Numb face" in light of the affect it use to have on us. Perhaps another thing to add to the to do list. Bob.. |
