Looks like being a good exhibition.
There are at least 30 Club stands (our website says 14) and 40 plus traders.
There is a boating pool, 3in. and 4in. scale traction engines in steam outside.
Anthony Mount is bringing some of his engines and will be next to the Polly stand.
There will be several of Neville Evans designs on display next to the Polly stand again.
Roddy Turner will be operating his model dragline excavator. (Roddy won the Duke of Edinburgh award last year.)
There will be plenty to see, it will be well worth the trip. regards David

![]() 99 forum posts 21 photos | I have just got back from the show I arrived at 10:30 Parking easy and free. There was a queue to get in but with my ticket walked straight in. I got most of my list of bits, but more interestingly met some of the show team and was able to tell the in person what a good job they had done to put it all together. I partially liked the show separation arrangements Competition models, Club stands and Traders. There is also a good size food area. Paul Boscott |

8 forum posts | I got back an hour ago. Had a great time, spent far too much money buying my christmas presents. (Now have to wait to be able to open them)
Not too crowded so not at all stressfull.
Food made a change from the obligatory greasy burger.
Only one problem - came back with a longer want list than I went with.
(nothing new there then)

940 forum posts 30 photos | Hi All
Went yesterday, Friday, it was a great show and much better than I had expected. It was a great day out and like Martin L spent far too much money having ordered a new mill from Warco coupled with other more minor purchases. Even my good lady enjoyed it, well she must have done to let me spend the money!!
Overall I rate it as one of the best this year with plenty to see and areas well laid out.
Thanks to the organisers.
Cheers

1017 forum posts 14 photos | Was a great show. Thoroughly enjoyed it - and spent far too much money. well organised - congrats to David. Restaurant was good, - everything. Met Stan and he signed me up for the SMEE and lent me a tangential tool. It would have been nice to have met Circlip -as long as he could have drunk it, I'd have bought him one, so he wouldn't have had to worry about southern muck. (Mind you, you never know what goes on north of Watford) Really good. BUT- compared with Ascot, getting to and from it is a nightmare. It took nearly an hour in the am, I arrived at near 1 o clock, to get in from the M25. And just under an hour, leaving a little early to get out out of the jamup and onto the M3. WGR, I can get up to the Midlands, just in the time I spent grinding along inside the M25. Maybe I'm too used to our mostly uncluttered Dorset roads, and let myself get too stressed in prolonged traffic. Edited By meyrick griffith-jones on 12/12/2009 15:06:36 |

837 forum posts 27 photos | I don't do shows like this too often, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect - so I can't make comparisons. But I went to this one on Friday (it's only 15 minutes to get there for me), and was very impressed. I didn't spend a lot of money, but I certainly made myself a bit of a shopping list - just being able to look at some of the things I'd been contemplating was well worth it. It's just a personal thing (although it wasn't just me), but what made it really worthwhile was the SMEE's demonstration of their homebrew EDM machinery, and being able to discuss the ins and outs of how they got to where they did. There's definitely a MEW article in that if they're up for it, I'd say. So, excellent show, friendly people - well worth it. Congratulations to all involved. |

371 forum posts | With the exception of the Harrogate show which is too far for me I've attended all the ME shows in the last three years or so. I couldn't find fault with this one. Apart from a very inconsiderate, (selfish even) gentleman who parked his large Lexus very crookedly in the space next to mine! Some superb models on show including the helpful Ms Killick on the Myhobbystore stand! Old enough to be her father, certainly not; I'm old enough to be her grandfather!!! |

605 forum posts | Went to Sandown on Sat. 12th. This was my first visit to a MEX and was very impressed.
I live in Somerset but was worth the 140 mile trip. An absolute Alladins cave of bits and superb exhibits. Could have gone home with a truckful but had to make do with a set of Glanze turning tools (birthday presssie) My wife bless her came along too and she also enjoyed it, was particularly awe inspired with the Napier 12 cyl engine, an absolute masterpiece.
Felt sorry for the chap trying to get his jet engine going, did he in the end?
