The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

Before criticising someone, walk a mile in their shoes.

That way, when you do criticise them, you're a mile away.

...... and you have their shoes.

If it wasn’t for free speech we wouldn’t know who the idiots were.

There are only 10 kinds of people, those who understand binary and those who don’t.

I was having a birthday present parachute jump bought for me by my kids.

I jumped out of the aircraft. It was then i realised i had forgotten what the instructor had told me about the chute deployment. After some time speeding to earth i saw something approaching me at speed. It was a man clinging to a cooker coming up.

I shouted , hey do you know anything about parachutes, he replied no, do you know anything about gas cookers.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

Regards Ian.

I have two avatar signatures on other forums

'You might not like what I say, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong' and 'I didn't say what you think you heard'.

My favourite is from my 1888 'Enquire Within Upon Everything'. It's 'Never meddle with gunpowder by candlelight.'

And in similar cheery vein: 'Death does not blow a Trumpet'
