A couple of weeks ago there was a thread here about a scammer purporting to have a Warco GH610 for sale on ebay.

There is now a Boxford 11;30 for sale on ebay.

The seller joined ebay yesterday, has a 10 feedback rating from bulk sellers, is based up in Scotland, the auction is very short duration, he offers delivery but wants BACS payment and is using photos from an older genuine completed advert.

All the normal red flags indicating the seller is a scammer. Sooner or later he'll get lucky and someone will pay by bank transfer, fearfull of missing a bargain.

I've reported the seller to ebay. Don't get caught out before they take his add down!

he is saying can be viewed & cash on collection. He only wants bacs if the buyer wants it delivering.

He has only just joined but does not actually mean he is a scammer.

Steve, all these scammers offer viewing and collection, only thet happen to be based up in Scotland. That one single thing seems to be enough to satisfy many people, with respect, yourself included.

It's the same person everytime.

Unfortunately he has blocked me from bidding after I "won" an item and called his bluff and said "OK, I'm fairly close, what's your address? I'll come over tomorrow".

Hopefully some one on here might do the same, he may get the message.

Dunoon is not the easiest of places to get to, makes viewing more than a little awkward.

What is it they say about not being able to scam an honest man? You don't have to know too much about lathes to know that an 1130 in reasonable condition is worth rather more than £1100.

I also spotted this and reported it to eBay earlier today, but last time I looked it was still listed.

The photos are of a lathe sold a few weeks ago for £2000.

In the description for this listing he says he will accept £1100 !

Obviously a scam - wants someone to pay him via BACS.

Have sold a couple of lathes that way, and a milling machine, which was bought by a very nice man in Malta.

Not everyone is a scammer, but personally i always collect with cash, money is too hard earned to gamble with.

There was a Super7 for sale near Inverness a few weeks back, very similar advert. Anyone know what happened to that? The option of collecting may be a bluff, knowing that most of the population is under house arrest at present. It’s a shame we’ve all been made so sceptical but there are lots of crooks out there.

Hopefully a more accomplished 'con merchant' will buy it and then ask for his bank details before then draining his account and selling the information on..... hang on! is that legal??

Looks like the same person has just sold an Emco PC Mill 125 CNC Machining Centre so he could be on a hit list if he is a scammer.

Might be a good idea to keep a thread open warning people about these scams, somewhere people can report them, because ebay does a very poor job of responding to reports on their listings.
