Bought some bits and bobs from Banggood recently, and somehow managed to end up ordering the wrong inserts. Can't think how I managed it....other than confusing the tool shank size (12mm) with the insert size (9mm). I blame it on the Lidl Speyside malt.

Anyway, I now have 10 MACHIFIT CCGT120404 AK H01 inserts (for aluminium) that are no bloody use to me at all - so here's a Crimbo bonus for someone out there who can make use of them.

Just stick your virtual hand up in the replies below, and after a suitable period of time I'll pick a name and send them to the lucky winner, gratis.
UK folks only, please...I'm far too tight to cough for international shipping on a freebie...

Ach, that's tempting - but I said I'd give them away, so I'll stick to it.

Nice of you to offer though!

Hi just seen this and thought I have a few specialised carbide bits made by Iscar. They are spare from when I did a proper job and I had thought I could use them but after a few years. I don't see me using them and as time goes on they will probably be superseded. Also free to a good home. You may have to buy or make an arbour to take them.

Very kind of you Stephen! I'd have thrown my hat in but I've just been given 20 from an engineering works that has closed down sadly...

Next time, just buy a 16mm square tool and mill it down to 12mm height.

Another excuse to buy that mill I've got a hankering for!

We had some 25mm Sandvik lathe tools at the museum before we had a mill, and I cut the first down by hand with a hacksaw and rubbed it to the tool height of 17.53mm by hand. It was hard work, and the second one got turned to the thickness in a four jaw chuck. They still get used.

Hi David,

I wouldn't say no to one of the 20 mm ball nose cutters.

And you are not to far away from me, I'm near York.
