Austrian GP on next weekend for any motorsport followers. Having a T.V & maybe SKY. would help. I know some members do not so this will be of zero interest to you.

My only hope is if C4 in UK shows highlights since I don't have Sky.

Got Sky but not forking out for the extra package just to watch F1. It has just become a high speed procession, much prefer the motorbike racing as you get some good overtaking.

Why? We might just have a radio, you know. Doubtless the highlights will appear on Youtube (possibly even the whole race?). There will be reports in the papers - for those that read them. So please don’t assume or state obviously untrue statements just because you think yourself, and others with goggleboxes, are the only ones interested!

MotoGP for me. I don’t think Silverstone is on this year, though.

I have not watched t.v for about 4 months, other than the news when herself has it on. I only really watched ,F1, Motogp, British superbikes, World superbikes, + the TT. None of which, so looking forward to next weekend.

Great so 8 races to watch. Lots of remote control setups for sky then. I missed out on 2 last year when the 4k did not record so now i set to record all on the F1 channel & then again on the 4K. Only trouble is i spend an age deleting them all once finished. laugh

The above post is not a brag. My other half is Football & rugby mad + Cricket so she pays for the 4K of which i take the advantage of.

I gave up on F1 years ago. As others have said a long procession, with no overtaking....why don't they award the race based on qualification times, saves all the hassle of a boring race. So it's MotoGP for me!!

cheers

You will see a change of that in 2021. They are re-introducing ground effect. This will not slow a following car down to a point that he or her cannot overtake. It will give a boost the nearer they get. Lots of other changes too, including a cap on spending. Spending has always caused the richer teams to develop more than the lessers. So lets hope it becomes more interesting to watch.

I totally agree that it was becoming a procession. P.S. Motogp is a bit that way with Mark dominating the way he does. Lets see what Scott can do.

I used to be a fan but cost control and regs limiting innovation and necessary improved safety mean I agree it's more a procession now.

With physical traction limitations there are road legal cars that can make the 0-60 as fast (albeit less manoeuvrable). A tesla roadster with concept SpaceX package of rear and side thrusters should be capable of beating them all.

I understand about the lack of overtaking/excitement during F1 but I find all the tactics and all the unknowns during the race fascinating.

I suppose its another step back to normality, football and horse racing seem to have lead the way back.

I'm not a F1 fan other than taking a passing interest, its now "dead end" engineering with no real racing, it all seems to happen in the pits with the tyre changing!

Last years I won a couple of tickets to watch a touring car event. Went along not expecting much. Wow, was I wrong, real racing with the result decided on the track! Bought tickets for a couple of races this year, money back now.

I've enjoyed the Moto Gp, on a good day some fantastic racing.
