But we all know that once patented others are searching for a way to get around the patent! Would the opposite hang simply circumvent the patent?

There is an occasion when it should unroll from the back. Some paper has very weak perforations and if the holder is of the type that allows the roll to rest against the wall you will find that when you pull on it with a frontal delivery the sheets will tear off individually which can be very irritating for a two sheet man like me. With back unrolling the roll is lifted away from the wall thus reducing friction.

We always apply ours to the posterior.

Regarding unrolling from the back, I would have thought the idea of toilet tissue would be ti increase friction.

If you want low friction then Izal is the stuff.

;O)

(This is more like it, something to take your mind off things for a bit.)

Two sheets? I thought the norm was three: 1 up, 1 down, 1 polish.

The giant rolls in public loos are frustrating as the often break before the required amount of paper has been teased from the dispenser you then have the entertaining task of finding the end for another try, the loaders of the individual sheets must laugh their heads off when theY reload the wrong way. Talking of reloading the wrong way, the hospital car park machine was loaded with the magnetic strip the wrong way up so everybody’s ticket was invalid, funny how many people only parked for an hour, the queue was swelling fast when I left.

so if the roll sits in a vertical holder attached to the floor , should it be unrolled to the right or left of the dispenser?

Towards or away from the pot as it where? surprise

Where do you all find toilet rolls to conduct these experiments?

I just hope that my bills can be printed on toilet paper.

A never ending supply!

"Hanging off the exterior"? I regard this as a tissue of lies

When I read the title I thought the thread was going to be about how we're coping with being kept indoors. For the record, I'm an interior type and would very readily turn into a 'house human'.

Anyway, I've been told that if you have a cat it is wise to hang the tail of the loo roll against the wall, as the cat can't so readily unspool it all.

Not to mention small kids (who strike it downwards not up).
