Do any of you guys have to keep logging in to the forum..?

I can go days without needing to log in but then I have periods where I need to log in every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.

Its not an issue but wondered if its just me.

Do you have the "Remember Me" box ticked?

If you change devices that you logon with it will require you to login again i.e. PC to iPad

I had login problems yesterday, the server advised me about 10 times I had logged in with the wrong user name.
Normally there is no trouble.

If you log in from a different machine then it logs out of the last one. If your phone is enabled for the site it may be logging in if the window is left open in the background.
Also if you are using some program, firewall or plug in to a browser that is designed to hide some of your browsing activity it may be deleting the cookies that hold the log in details.

Yes, same here. Never have the problem on other sites, it’s just this one.

Same problem, sometimes go a couple of days with staying logged in but then sometimes will have to log in numerous times during a day. Bizarre occurrence a few months ago the log in rejected my password so I proceeded as if to change my password and just entered the old password, I didn’t want to change if it wasn’t necessary, the old password was accepted and I haven’t had any problems with log in since. Most sites refuse to accept a previously used password but it appears that Model Engineer will accept.

I dont know whats different about my set up but I'm logged in for months with no issues, the only time I have to sign back in is when I have a tidy up of the system.

For some Windows updates the system has to log in using an system account, so is that what might be logging you out of your browser?

I am sorry I can't test this as I don't use remember me at all (can't on work machines, don't at home)

The giveaway test is if you are logged out the first time you try to use the system after a second Tuesday in a month (but not every month unfortunately)

If you use another system then this doesn't apply of course.

Not noticed an issue with the logon dropping out, only very occasionally or when i change devices or if I switch off my MacBook rather than go to sleep mode.

However today I did notice that the "return " button now works as it should ! press return and you go to the new paragraph rather than to the first letter you had typed in so "something"has changed !

I find that regular logging is a good practice, otherwise I tend to forget my user name and password.

Also means you will see any PM's that you might otherwise miss if you don't have e-mail notification turned on.

You need to be logged in if you want to access any digital archive mags too.

Me too until recently. Now I have the same problem as others - I go anything from a few days, to hours to a week before I'm logged out (and yeah - I know all about "keep me logged in" and using another machine).
