If it came off the tracks nowadays, They would likely fire the Engineer for incompetence. "We have always done it that way with no problems."

My first though t was exaggeration by foreshortening, but no...

I think the cuts hide the driver coming out and taking a long stare at the tough bits.

And the answer is 'because he went very, very slowly'

Presumably this sort of track is only used a few times a year? I expect the cost of the occasional excursion to get a gang to re-rail a loco is less than re-laying teh track, even with rail that seems to have been borrowed from the Talyllyn.

Neil, it was done using 'super slow-mo', the actual speed was 150mph..... with his eyes closed.
