Andrew.

See, I told you it wasn't only me that wanted to know your progress on the Traction engines.

Good to see you back.

I must say it's nice to be called a gentleman!

Thread: XYZ1500 Belt Head Turret Mill
10/09/2023 20:49:01

Hi Lee.

Yes I've got one. I've been using it for a number of years for hobby use and I've been very happy with it. I have got power feed on X and Y which saves a lot of handle twiddling, (wish I had one on the knee!). It has though auto feed on the quill which is great for using a boring head.

The only problems I've had with it was that the top bearing on the spindle became noisy, a fairly simple job to replace.

At the right price a very capable machine with lots of grunt and in my experience worth getting.

Why not Peter? You can do small work on a large lathe but you can't do large work on a small lathe.

I made these a few weeks ago on my Bantam.

Thread: Malicious website ?
18/05/2023 10:40:30

Ahh! It's the downloads page that's causing the problems. When I tried last time I only went to the Homepage--no problem.

If you search for www.cnczone/forums/downloads you hit trouble!

Oh well it seemed like a good idea at the time, I'll just have to use my old version of Ezilathe (wrong spelling in first post) frown

Keith.

Thanks for all your help

Having tried yesterday at various times to no avail, I tried again this morning after your reassurances and had no problem. Strange!

Thanks again.

Hi all, I've just been trying to access www.cnczone to download the most recent version of Eazilathe. Unfortunately my anti virus software keeps telling me that it's a malicious site and that it's a known dangerous website.

Have any other members had this trouble? Or is it just Norton being ultra carefull.

I'm surprised, as I understood it to be a well used site.

Best regards,

Keith.

Hi Steve. Sorry I've taken so long. Unfortunately the Drive screws I have all seem to be smaller than you require.

The largest I have measure just under 2mm dia. across the "thread". But if you think you could use them let me know and I'll let you have some.

Thread: CAM software for Lathes

That's interesting Martin, I've not had any problems with the few things I have used it for, but I don't know offhand what versions I have used.

I need to make a ball handle in the near future so I was going to use Ezilathe on my friends lathe. I'll have to make sure it doesn't do the same to me!

Altho' everything I've done so far with it has been fine.

I have in the past used a program called Ezilathe (note spelling). It's free and only requires a 2D drawing to generate the G-code. It runs happily on Mach3, and I believe there is a version for Mach4.

A search on t'internet should find it.

Hi Steve,

I'll have a look to see what I have. It may not be for a day or so, but I'll be in touch.

Stephen.

I have a selection of these Drive Screws. If you can let me know the size you require I may be able to supply what you need.

A group of chaps, all aged 40, discussed where they should meet for a reunion lunch.

Finally it was agreed that they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge
because the waitresses had big tits and wore mini-skirts.

Ten years later, at age 50, the friends once again discussed where they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that
they would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the food and
service was good and the beer selection was excellent.

Ten years later, at age 60, the friends again discussed where
they should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they
would meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because there was plenty
of parking, they could dine in peace and quiet, talk about their last colonoscopy and it was good
value for money.

Ten years later, at age 70, the friends discussed where they
should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would
meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because the restaurant was
wheelchair accessible and had a toilet for the disabled.

Ten years later, at age 80, the friends discussed where they
should meet for lunch. Finally it was agreed that they would
meet at Wetherspoons in Uxbridge because they had never been
there before.

Thread: Tug - Amolco mill attachment
24/03/2020 12:24:58

I need to contact a member called 'Tug' that purchased an Amolco Mill from a friend of mine some time ago. The friend in question is about to move house and has come across the belt guard for it. If it's wanted p.m. me with your phone no. and I'll make sure he doesn't dispose of it. We can arrange transfer of it when it's safe to do so.
