Some users may have seen odd issues over the last day or so - pages loading slowly, partly or not at all, with cryptic error messages.

This has led to some duplicate postings (including by me!) which I'm tidying up when I spot one.

The cause has not been tracked down, partly because the website is moving to a new server today, which will hopefully solve them and make everything a little bit smoother too.

Please be patient if the glitches continue for another day or so as the changes propagate across the web (or whatever it is they do...)

Neil

(I did try to post this message last night, but it wouldn't go through!)

Thanks for the info. I am having problems and assumed it was our connection ( via satelite ) which does not work too well in bad weather. Saved me a lot of testing.

Just for interest- when I clicked on "add posting" nothing happened. Then just hovering the cursor over and not clicking it was sent. Worked on the next posting also.

Just a coincidence I think, the system is very, very slow at the moment, I imagine the change is in progress.

Thanks, Neil

  • Yes, I have noticed several double-posts
  • "Keep me logged-in" is behaving badly.
  • Sign-in sometimes succeeds, but then displays an error message
  • General performance has been getting slower [it's like the rest of us]

Look forward to welcoming the new server.

The only problem I'v been having lately is down loading You tube videos, but not only on this forum, I'm on dial up so don't notice slow. No sooner said than I press send, and it comes up "The Website cannot display the page", I got it on the 3rd attempt.(we'll see how this goes)

Hello Julian,

No, they should still be there.

The IT gurus tell me that the problem is with the hosting company, rather than the website itself. (Not unexpectedly) the commercial sites (e.g. myhobbystore, etc.) are being sorted first, followed by the various MTM forums.

I will let people know when things are back to normal. At least we have basic functionality - some of the time.

Does that mean we won't be able to tell? wink 2

I was looking for something else on Google earlier today, and found my name(Ian S C), and a list of all my posts.

Still only a bit of the chimney showing for me but I only uploaded the full engine successfully about mid day so don't know if Neil has had time to approve it on IE.

Jasons avtar

" viewing on google chrome Jasons avatar is showing correctly. "

Not in my version of Chrome and not in Safari - mostly blue sky and a slither of chimney.

Sorry Paul,

I was so delighted by your post. I clicked delete instead of quote!

Neil

Since reading the website is moving to a new server a problem that I had for a long time with not receiving Email notifications about threads has now been corrected and am now receiving them.

Paul

Tumults of applause!

Heavenly trumpets sound!

Angels sing!
