5307 forum posts 83 photos | Over the last couple of weeks I've finally finished off my ELS fitted to a myford 254. Not the one being described elsewhere, this is the Joe Noci version. I'd like to publicly thanks Joe for patiently responding to my multitudinous e-mails, most of which were needed because of my own ineptitude. I'll now be able to cut all those imperial threads which have been such a pain beforehand. I'll probably never recoup the time I've spent, but it was educational and fun. I've attached some pictures. All I need to do now is make a belt guard

1323 forum posts 1431 photos | Duncan, I see from the photo the stepper HAS an extension shaft, so a rattle damper is easily fitted. No doubt you will fit one ( a few??) in pursuit of the 3mm pitch @ 500rpm.... Joe

1323 forum posts 1431 photos | Paul White ( a self admitted octogenarian+) also built up one of these ELS systems about a year ago, on a lathe older than he. I seem to remember he did also post something on MEW forum, but, as usual, I am useless with the applicable search engine..Can't find it! Or maybe it was the gear hobber he posted about?

1395 forum posts 30 photos | Surely Joseph could be persuaded to write up some articles for MEW re the many ingenuous + exceptionally well produced electronic-mechanical workshop adaptations he has shown on this forum over the last few years |

1. Working with Cast Iron. 2 Turning a taper. 3 Straight boring 4 Boring a taper. 5 Using a slitting saw. The indexer and guide blades are made but not fitted. The finish is nothing to shout about but I'm looking forward to using it.
