2011 forum posts | In one of the supermarkets found some largish plastic trays, with divisions. Turns out these are for putting in drawer to hold knives and forks etc. Great to keep on bench and hold all common lathe tools complete with shims. |

9 forum posts | I have quite a few takeaway containers in use in the shed. They have decent storage capacity for storing small tools and small parts and they are easily stacked one on top of the other. Being airtight I find that anything stored in the containers will not rust. The containers seem to last well too. I also use instant potatoe (smash) tins for storage they are robust and last for years. |

81 forum posts 9 photos | I use them, drills, taps etc... They all go in if they fit. Don't know about the longevity of them though as I have only recently started using them. Mine seem to withstand WD40 at the moment, but then they withstood some really hot curries too!! Andy. |

436 forum posts 5 photos | Cheap clear containers tend not to be UV proof, so keep them away from the sun (if we ever get any) :-0 . I have 146 Golden Virginia baccy tins inherited from from My grandad. Only found that out when I decided to build a rack for them! Any suggestions for permenently marking them? i have tried "permanent markers" on the tins, on masking tape on the tins and on white PVC tape stuck on the tins. Its handy to mark the front and back, else you eventually have a shelf full of tins with the "blank" ends looking at you! Frank |

84 forum posts | I used white correction fluid to paint each end of the tobacco tins then wrote on with permanent marker. They must still make the tins as I won some small drills on flea bay and they arrived in a nice new tin! peter Edited By peter walton on 15/04/2013 09:17:00 Edited By peter walton on 15/04/2013 09:23:05 |

![]() 23121 forum posts 1360 photos | Just returned from Morrison's Supemarket Round 500ml seal-top "Food Storer" containers, in their M savers range, are 50p each. Made in the UK, by Whitefurze: They appear to be high quality, and they're stackable. They are rated as a Dry Food container, and they look very suitable for storing Nuts [sorry, couldn't resist that one!]. MichaelG. |

![]() 7468 forum posts 230 photos | In NZ Click Clack containers are good, they are more solid than Tupperware, and have a clip system that holds the lid against a gasket, so they are water proof. A nephew uses them for the radio gear in his model hydroplane. I'v got two or three in the work shop. They come in many sizes, think they are still made in Christchurch NZ. I don't often eat it myself, but I'v been collecting icecream cartons to replace the ones that are disintergrating around the place. The icecream containers arn't like they used to be, I'v got some ove 30yr old, still OK, the newer ones give up after about 2 yrs. Ian S C Edited By Ian S C on 20/04/2013 13:18:26 |
