hi the gears are available from www.hobby.uk.com

Thread: Need assistance in changing the chuck on a battery drill
07/12/2014 18:42:53

re removing the left handed screw usually found inside the chuck if it wont come out like this one then spray down the chuck with wd 40 and leave it chuck upright for a while to allow the wd 40 to soak in or immerse the chuck in to a tin containing enough paraffin to cover the chuck and leave this for a while

I have had some chuck screws that would not come out and have had to cut the chuck off carefully with a disc cutter until it could be removed

hope this will be of help but please no smart comments

06/12/2014 07:28:36

the correct way to remove the chuck is to remove the screw that retains the chuck then put the largest allen key you can fit in the chuck small end of allen key first then holding the drill with one hand knock the allen key and the chuck should come loose

Thread: hi all
09/03/2014 14:26:17

yes good point the loft is more secure than a garden building but access is more awkward than just popping outside in to the workshop also there is no natural light at all in the loft

09/03/2014 12:32:35

find an alternative to the loft to many possible problems

Thread: motor wiring
12/09/2012 16:59:13

hi all

regarding motor and control gear wiring i think there should be a separate forum on here specifically for motors and control gear ie direct on line starters and invertors after all it is vital that they are wired up correctly

the invertor manuals are far too complex in their content for what is required by the model engineer for his workshop equipment be it a milling machine lathe etc

Thread: workshop lighting
30/07/2012 16:38:44

i do agree that good lighting is essential but have any of you considered if possible using daylight by fitting a roof window or something along these lines i fitted one and replaced the corruged sheeting with equivalent type as used on conservatories excetera and it improved the daylight in the work area no end
