I've been looking on-line for over half an hour for an "O" ring supplier, I only need one 3/8th. or 9.50mm O/D "O" ring, I'm quite happy to buy the minium quantity of 20 but not too happy about the minium order of £10 + VAT + £3.75 p&p Any body know of a friendly supplier?

I have used Simply Bearings in the past and found them very reasonable. They list 9,5 i/d, 12.5 o/d nitrile rings as £2.29 + VAT for 2off. Postage is £1.50. They have a big range and a choice of materials.

Hi Mick,

Try Macc models, I have bought quite a few 'O' rings of various materials and sizes and he sells singles. It is worth looking through his extensive catalogue to stock up on a few items to make P&P worthwhile as he charges by weight. In fact he is showing a 3/8" od, 1/4" id silcone 'O' ring for 29p at the moment here.

Regards

Terry

Hi Mick,

Stuff the postage, put them on shopping list for xbns., e.g., Guildford next weekend, Bristol in Aug.

If you live near enough, Ardingly showground also next weekend - lots of micellaneous stands there. Bound to be one flogging black rings.

I usually get this sort of thing at the local garage (Car repair ) or tractor place. Generally have selection boxes and different materials.

I've bought O rings from this company,

I think they come in bags of 20, but they're not too expensive, about £7 for 9.5mm.

Hi, I have just looked in Blackgates Engineering catalogue and find the 3/8" od listed at 36p. I have used them before and found them most helpful. My catalogue is for 2009 I doubt they have increased by much. Their phone No. is 01924 466000  or www.blackgates.co.uk

Depends what you want and where you get them from, the sizes are nearly all different even though conform to BS.

How many do you want in nitrile or viton and cross section? i can post you some.

Try screwfix or machine mart for selection boxes for abouit £5-7. IIRC they are metric, but in small steps so you will probably find one you can use with little adjustment.

Chronos do better quality ones in small quantities.

Greetings Mick,

You could maybe take a look at this place. Not used them myself, but they appear to have a good range of products.
