Hi Folks,

Just a very quick line to share with you, the fact that, in the aftermath of the MYFORD liquidation, it transpires that a firm called A & R Precision Ltd was producing a quantity of Dickson type tool posts and holders for Myford, unfortunatly for A&R,  Myford went into liquidation before they were delivered.

A & R are now selling this stock at very reasonable prices and whats even better is the fact that these are BRITISH MADE to Myfords own spec.

They are charging just £65 for a tool post and holders + spanner

and only £48 for 4 tool holders.

A & R CAN BE CONTACTED AT [email protected]

I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR, I HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH THIS COMPANY. I AM SIMPLY A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER AND BELIEVE YOU COULD BE TOO.

They're selling them on Ebay at that price too. I bought four holders over a month ago and can confirm the quality is every bit as good as before. The only thing missing is the "W".

Hi All, yes I bought some as well via Ebay and they are first quality, if you want them I would jump in quick before they run out. These are far better than the imported stuff.

I could only find ones being offered by RDG and Chronos - no trace of A&R. Am I missing something?

They put the stuff up as "Buy It Now". It tends to go quickly. Either use the "Ask Seller A Question" feature or simply phone them.

Hi

The toolholders supplied via Myford had a W (or M if viewed up side down ) stamped on them.

Hi Alll --- just let you know A & R Precision have some more Myford & Boxford UK made dickson tool holders on Ebay

**LINK**

UI have bought these and they are spot on and far better than the imported clones. A little more expensive but well worth the extra in my opinion.

Cheers John

Yes, there's a new batch been made, currently only being listed on eBay. Price for this run is between £14 and £15 each for the holders depending on how many you buy. I bought four more this morning but note they won't actually be shipping until the first week in January. A & R Precision were the company who made them for the old Myford shortly before they ceased trading.

Argh! It's only tool holders, not toolposts. Hopefully the tooposts will appear later.

Note how the MYFORD name does not appear in the Ebay ad.

How sad that you have to withhold the truth in this day and age!!

Would have been nice to see Myford alongside Boxford or even

the origins of the original contract as posted earlier within the ad.

I can't see how "made specifically to fit Myford 7 series lathes" or something similar could offend anyone?

There would not have been a problem with "Myford Compatible" or 'Made to fit Myford'. They cannot call them 'Myford' because they are not. In the same way that a Nissan cannot be labelled as a Bentley. Copyright and Trademarks have been protected snce the year dot to prevent forgery (tell that to the Chinese!).

Seasons greetings,

Terry
