This year, everbody must be feeling the pinch, moneywise, so after talking with management, every purchaser of Model Engineer issue 4414 and Model Engineers' Workshop issue 183 will get free entry to the Model Engineer Exhibition on Sunday the 11 of December 2011.
Each magazine lets one person into the exhibition for free. No terms, no conditions, other than you must display a copy of the magazine on entry to the show and free entry is Sunday only.

Your magazine will not need to be defaced, you do not need to cut the ticket out. On this occasion photocopies will not be permitted.

Full details will be in ME issue 4414 and Model Engineers' Workshop issue 183.
I do hope you will come this year, entries are coming in quite fast and we have many major attractions.
regards David

I suppose that us Digital subscribers lose out then .... Good sales plot to get all digital subscribers to buy a paper copy as well

Also I suspect that we won't get a copy of the free 'Exhibition Program' that is being included with ME in the near future ...

Hi there Steambuff.
I am sure digital subscribers can be sorted out.
Just bring you computer along.

Only joking.
We will find a way round this.

If I number the show guide into the magazine it will be included.
regards David

I must say that I'm extremely dischuffed having ordered 2 tickets on line, only to find out when I purchased my magazine locally that you then have this free offer.

I think you should take it in good part. One can hardly announce an offer before its agreed.

Come on guys . David's done a good job here and I'm sure its not been the first thing on his mind at the moment.
Did I complain when my free subscription gift , the set of golf clubs , did n't have a putter included ? Of course not -just asked ,David politely to make sure a putter was included next year.
Some of you guys remind me of the customers of my fellow Philips Sales manager  (for consumer goods ,tellies etc). Every year they were treated to a lavish ,I think foreign jolly, entirely free and most complained bitterly if the weather was n't good. We did n't make the same profits in semiconductors and my customers got a local golf day if they were lucky and were most grateful.

Well, the original posting was made by David on the 22 September and now, what, 6 weeks or so later, you have found this thread. What made you search it out? I can understand that you might not have looked for it if you didn't realise that it was here in the first place, but something still doesn't quite make sense about this to me, I'm afraid. You've bought the tickets on line, presumably via this site, and you're only checking for show information after you've bought them?

How about going along on the "free" Sunday, stand outside and offer your (now) spare tickets at a discount to anyone who will take them??

Or go one better as I did last year and give your spare away, the contented feeling it will give you will far surpass and "dischuffing" you feel at the moment

It will be interesting to see how the free Sunday ticket affects numbers, will there be a lot less consessions, nice way of putting it, on the Friday and a larger croud on the Sunday.

I'm not bothered, got a free pass for the whole show, you could do the same if you display a model or two.

Accept it's bad luck, not a conspiracy

If your tickets are transferable put them on ebay.

I could explain "take it in good part" but this is a family show. This site has a lot of helpful and reasonable members despite which the a------e to good guy ratio must be one of the highest on the internet.

I'm sorry if I have unintentionally offended you Trevor; I'm not sure what Alan is hinting at but there's nothing nasty in what I meant by 'take it in good part' - it just means "Accept your misfortune in good humour, there was no malice in what happened to you" - but that takes a lot more typing.

I may get grumpy some times. but I'm not out to upset people if I can help it.
